Genie+ may be super helpful as Disney’s skip-the-line service, but not everyone is a fan of it.

Genie+

And that’s because, unlike FastPass, Genie+ is a service you have to PAY for, and no one’s a fan of something that used to be free but now isn’t anymore. However, that’s not to say it doesn’t have its positive differences from FastPass/FastPass+, but that’s if you know how to use it (which we can help with!). But you wanna know what’s shocking us? On a weekend in the middle of summer, Genie+ prices have gone DOWN.

We’re not kidding! We keep track of the Genie+ pricing trends to help better understand what causes them to spike and fall, and from Thursday (June 6th) to today, Saturday, June 8th, Genie+ prices have dropped about 15% across the board.

Enchanted Tales with Belle

Let’s break it down, shall we? Because the numbers don’t lie! On Thursday, June 6th, prices for each park looked like:

Multiple Parks: $29
Magic Kingdom: $29
EPCOT: $21
Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $26
Disney’s Animal Kingdom: $18

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Then, they started to drop on Friday, June 7th when they looked like:

Multiple Parks: $27
Magic Kingdom: $27
EPCOT: $19
Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $24
Disney’s Animal Kingdom: $17

Living with the Land

And finally, today, Saturday, June 8th, they’ve dropped AGAIN!

Multiple Parks: $25
Magic Kingdom: $25
EPCOT: $18
Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $22
Disney’s Animal Kingdom: $16

Kilimanjaro Safaris

This is fantastic news no matter what, but why is this happening? Well, we have a few theories. The first is that this weekend is supposed to be INSANELY hot in Disney World. Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 90s but feel hotter due to humidity. And while Disney World is always hot during the summer, that is record-breaking heat, so people may be waiting for the heat wave to pass before heading into the parks.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Additionally, we’re only a few weeks away from the official opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom on June 29th, and locals/people who don’t live too far from the parks may be choosing to wait and visit when the ride is open to the public. This way, they’re not dealing with the frustration of having visited the parks just days before a new attraction opens.

Toy Story Mania

Regardless of the reason, if you’re in Disney World this weekend, make sure you’re wearing that sunscreen and taking breaks as needed! That sun is no joke, so keep yourself hydrated and don’t push yourself too hard. And if you’re looking for that Genie+ help we promised earlier, watch this video right here!

As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news!
