Pixar Fest has brought tons of exciting eats and experiences to Disneyland Resort this summer.
One of these new offerings was Club Pixar, an entertainment offering that was scheduled to run through August 4th. However, the show has closed two months early.
According to The Orange County Register, Club Pixar’s show on June 2nd was their final show, much to the surprise of all dancers present, who had not been told previously. The show took place in the Hollywood Land backlot at Disney California Adventure, where previous popular dance parties such as the Mad T Party and ElecTRONica have taken place in the past.
Club Pixar was described by Disney as being a dance party with “DJ music, live shows and Pixar-themed games, food and drinks,” leading fans to hope it would be more geared towards adults, such as previous shows were.
However, the show ended up being more geared towards kids as a “watch-and-learn” choreography show, or as “watch-and-enjoy” dances to Inside Out and Wall-E music. Many fans feel it was similar to the Disney Junior Dance Party found in Disneyland or the Disney Junior Play and Dance! in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
We thought it was a fun dance party, but could see why many guests feel it was more geared towards kids. While adults were more than welcome to join in on the dancing, it was more kiddos having the time of their lives dancing their hearts out.
Guest feedback and operational considerations were the reasons behind the early closure. While disc jockeys and dancers will no longer be present in Club Pixar, guests will still be able to find Pixar-themed food and drinks, games, movies, and photo opportunities from 4:30-8:30PM in the Hollywood Backlot space.
