A first look at the new entrance to Downtown Disney District has been shared on the shopping and entertainment destination’s new Instagram account.
New Downtown Disney Entrance
The new entrance includes spread-out security tables, silver gates, and a new overhead covering with large silver letters that spell out “Downtown Disney.” It is located on the west side of the district, near the future home of Din Tai Fung, and can be accessed from the Simba parking lot.
A mural along the wall by the restrooms, featuring artwork by Nikkolas Smith, highlights new offerings coming to the district as it continues on its multi-year transformation. Among these offerings are Paseo, Céntrico, and Tiendita, which recently opened to guests. This mural above appears to depict the new entertainment stage, accompanying grassy area, and Parkside Market. The new Chinese restaurant Din Tai Fung will also open this summer.
Downtown Disney District first opened to guests in 2001 as part of the Disneyland Resort expansion that included Disney California Adventure and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. It was inspired by Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort, which is now known as Disney Springs.
