If you have a sweet tooth, you’ve come to the right place!
Disney World may be famous for its theme park attractions, hotels, and unforgettable entertainment, but here at the Disney Food Blog, we make it no secret that we’re OBSESSED with Disney food — especially the desserts. While the Disney Parks have plenty of great desserts, we can’t forget about some of our absolute favorites at Disney Springs!
We love sooo many desserts at Disney Springs, that we came up with 12 that just might be worth skipping the parks for — let’s take a look!
Bombolato — Vivoli il Gelato
If a warm Italian donut filled with gelato and your choice of sauce sounds like your kind of dessert, then you’ve got to try the Bombolato at Vivoli il Gelato! This $10.50 treat comes with an Italian donut filled with one scoop of gelato.
We’ve tried many flavors including the Mocha Caramel Bombolato (donut, coffee gelato, chocolate chips, and caramel sauce), the Nutella Tiramisu Bombolato (donut, tiramisu gelato, chocolate sauce, Nutella, and lady fingers), and the Strawberry Shortcake Bombolato (donut, cake batter gelato, fresh strawberries, and strawberry sauce). It’s been hard to eat donuts and gelato separately since.
Gelato — Vivoli il Gelato
Staying at Vivolia il Gelato, we HAVE to recommend the Gelato, of course! We’ve found their Gelato to be rich and creamy with a wide variety of flavors.
Kids Cups cost $6.50, single scoops cost, $7.75, double scoops cost $9.75, and Wine/Beer Gelato Cups cost $7.50. You can also add toppings and a waffle cone for an additional price. As far as flavors go, we’ve tried Rice Pudding, Pistachio, and Bacio (Chocolate Hazelnut). Current flavors include Amaretto, Banana, Black Cherry, Coffee, Cookie Dough, Coconut, Vanilla Bean, Cannoli, Mint Chocolate Chip, and more!
Cookies and Hot Cookie Hour — Gideon’s Bakehouse
The giant, uniquely-flavored cookies at Gideon’s Bakehouse are WILDLY popular and people are willing to wait hours to get their hands on them. The location in Disney Springs offers a rotating menu with offerings like Cookies & Cream, Peanut Butter Crunch, Dark Coffee Cake Cookie, Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip, Triple Chocolate Chip, Coffee Cake Cookie, and, of course, Original Chocolate Chip Cookie. Cookies are generally $6.
If you like to put your cookies in the microwave, Gideon’s offers an alternative — Hot Cookie Hour! Between 2PM and 3PM and again from 7PM and 8PM, Gideon’s offers its Classic Chocolate Chip straight from the oven and serves it with or without homemade ice cream. Prices range from $6 to $10.
Grilled Cheeeeeese With Bacon Hack — Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew
If you think a donut shop selling grilled cheese is weird… well, you’re not alone. Still, the Grilled Cheeeeeese at Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew is surprisingly awesome! This innovative dessert is usually served on a griddled sweet bun for $7 but can be upgraded to be served with a glazed donut instead.
For good measure, we recommend further upgrading your sandwich to include bacon, as well! Is this the healthiest dessert hack we’ve ever suggested? Unlikely. Is it the tastiest? It’s definitely up there!
Ice Cream — Salt & Straw
Bored with regular ice cream? Salt & Straw has you covered! With rotating seasonal flavors like Métier’s Black Stripe Porter & Bread Pudding, Russian River’s Supplication Ale with Manchego, La Tropical’s La Original Lager with Guava, Breakside’s Barrel-Aged Chocolate Stout, and Monkish’s Space Cookies & Cream Hazy IPA (as you can see, this month is all about the beer at this spot), Salt & Straw’s offerings are anything but normal. Prices tend to vary from $5.95 to $12.95. Add-ons like waffle cones and whipped cream can be purchased for additional charges.
Classic flavors include Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons, Double Fold Vanilla, Chocolate Gooey Brownie, Panther Coffee Chocolate Tres Leches, Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Cinnamon Snickerdoodle, Honey Lavender, Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper, The Salty Donut Guava + Cheese, Arbequina Olive Oil, Freckled Mint Chocolate Chip, Roasted Pineapple Coconut Sherbet, and Peanut Butter Brittle Caramel Fudge.
Waffle Sundaes — Marketplace Snacks
Sticking with the ice cream theme, we can’t get enough of the Waffle Sundaes at Marketplace Snacks! Costing $9.49, these waffle sundaes are GORGEOUS and are themed after Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, and Pluto, which all have waffles, soft-serve, and a variety of fruit, nut, and/or candy toppings!
These guys are also very refreshing and sweet, making them the perfect dessert when you want to cool down during a hot Florida day!
Hummingbird Cake — Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’
Some of our favorite cakes are found at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’! Hummingbird Cake is Chef Art’s southern specialty that combines pineapple-banana cake with cream cheese frosting. It’s served with vanilla bean ice cream and costs $14.
This is a fan-favorite and is a definite recommendation for anyone who loves pineapple!
Shine Cake — Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’
Staying at Homecomin’, the Shine Cake is another cake we can’t get enough of! This is Chef Art’s signature dessert and is perpared with an adults-only butter cake soaked with moonshine syrup. This dessert is served with a seasonal fruit gastrique and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. It is slightly cheaper than Hummingbird cake, coming in at $13.
If you’re one to like your dessert to taste a little boozed up, you should definitely give this a try!
Ger’s Bread and Butter Pudding — Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant
Simply described as “Like no other you have ever tried. Believe us,” Ger’s Bread and Butter Pudding at Raglan Road costs $12 and is truly a standout dessert. This bread and butter pudding is a layered, golden bread pudding flanked by caramel sauce and vanilla creme anglaise.
We recommend being liberal with the sauce and really letting this become an ooey-gooey dessert!
Mickey Mousse — Amorette’s Patisserie
Famous for its pastries, cakes, and champagnes, Amorette’s Patisserie also features the iconic Mickey Mousse for $9. This dessert is made with chocolate chiffon cake, and dark chocolate and white chocolate mousse.
If you’re in the market for some Mickey Mouse and Disney Parks-themed desserts, the Mickey Mousse is a great option that can be found in Disney Springs!
DOLE Whip Sampler — Swirls on the Water
Missing DOLE Whip? Head over to Swirls on the Water and pick up a DOLE Whip Sampler for $7.99! Samplers can include a variety of DOLE Whip seasonal flavors, including DOLE Whip Pineapple swirled with vanilla soft-serve garnished with a pineapple wedge, DOLE Whip Strawberry swirled with coconut soft-serve topped with strawberry sauce and coconut flakes, and DOLE Whip Mango swirled with DOLE Whip Lime and topped with chili-lime seasoning and diced mango.
