Boil water notices lifted in Brevard County after major flooding, with some exceptions

After severe flooding swept the region, a couple of cities in Brevard County have now lifted their boil water notices — with a few exceptions still in place.
The first is the city of Melbourne, which rescinded the notice that was initially issued on Monday, Nov. 2.
In a release, city officials said crews were able to determine the “water is safe to drink.”
Anyone with questions is urged to contact the city’s Public Works and Utilities Administration office at (321) 608-5000.
Meanwhile, the city of Palm Bay also patially rescinded its boil water notice.
According to city officials, the boil water notice was lifted for the majority of customers following water main breaks along Port Malabar Boulevard Northeast.
However, due to a service disruption along Port Malabar Road, the city announced the notice remains in effect for the following streets and addresses:
- 801 – 899 Vance Circle NE
- 2606 – 2699 Yalta Street NE
- 2614 – 2699 Sabrina Street NE
- 609 Roberts Lane NE
- 653 Roberts Lane NE
- 703 – 799 Apollo Circle NE
- 1950 – 2062 Port Malabar Blvd. NE
- 799 Burman Lane NE
“Customers at these addresses should continue to boil water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes for at least one minute,” city officials wrote. “The notice will remain in effect for these addresses until further notification from the city.”
A map of the affected service area is available on the city’s website here.
