Fans Are Convinced These Disney World Rides Are Next to Close

Disney World has been going through a LOT of change in recent years, including permanently closing restaurants, shows, and attractions to make way for new offerings, like Monstropolis and the Tropical Americas.

RIP DINOSAUR

And Disney fans don’t think it’s going to stop there. We recently took to our Facebook to ask, “We wanna know, what rides are YOU convinced are going to close next? 🤨,” and you all had some interesting predictions!

Tomorrowland Speedway

There are a few ideas for Tomorrowland Speedway when it comes to its closure. The first is a permanent closure. Chris Fiumefreddo wrote, “Predicting Speedway closes once the Cars area opens at MK,” to which Lisa Terrill Striker replied, “I can’t believe it’s lasted this long.” A lot of guests are opposed to the smell of gas from the attraction, which usually leads to low wait times. Gail Flesch Franco is also ready to see the attraction removed, commenting, “I am really for the speedway to go. They could put something so cool there.”

However, some fans think the attraction will just get an update instead of being entirely removed, including Tim Brindle, who wrote, “I’ve heard in the past the idea of turning Speedway into a Candy Crush track. I think that would be awesome.” This could especially be true with the change to Autopia in Disneyland as they transition from gas cars to electric vehicles.

Jungle Cruise

Now, Disney fans don’t think this iconic Magic Kingdom attraction will permanently close, but they do think it’s due for an update. Kelly Downard commented, “Probably not a full close but I think Jungle Cruise is due for an update (even if it’s just the speakers so we can understand the skippers).”

Jennifer Beth agreed, writing, “This would be great! I have to sit front middle to hear. No need to take my dad as the audio too bad for him everywhere on the boats.” And I agree, too! It can be extremely difficult to hear the skippers if you’re sitting in the back of the boat, and after waiting in a long line, you don’t just want to hear muffles. An audio update is definitely due for the Jungle Cruise! Jungle Cruise has received some additions and a change in storyline over the last few years. But an update to the audio would be nice!

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros

This has been talked about for a little bit now since the attraction feels extremely outdated. Lindsay White wrote, “I hope not but The Gran fiesta tour! I feel they’re going to change it to Coco!” However, some people think this would be unrealistic since Coco is such a popular movie.

Jason Chapa responded, “not happening. The pavilion doesn’t have the room for a massive queue.” And if you’ve been in the Gran Fiesta Tour queue, you’d understand what Jason is talking about. It’s very small and tight, so there really isn’t any room for a large-scale attraction. Gran Fiesta Tour, you’re safe for now.

Mission: SPACE

This EPCOT attraction is one of the very few that wouldn’t be missed if it permanently closed (by most, that is). It makes people extremely motion sick, so much so that the attraction almost always has a low wait time. And many fans agree that this ride is the next to go, including Alicia Goodloe, who wrote, “Mission Space can close. That’s the only sacrifice.”

Grady Barrineau agreed, commenting, “I feel Mission Space might be in its final years. Its a classic, but it has slowly been deteriorating.” And this is another attraction Gail Flesch Franco would be happy to see go, as they wrote, “I would be happy to see Mission Space close. 😁”

Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor

With a whole area inspired by Monsters, Inc. opening in Hollywood Studios next year, a lot of people are speculating that the show in Magic Kingdom will shutter. Jennifer Triana agrees, writing, “Im thinking monsters laugh floor once monsters land open.” This could be especially true since the new area will be home to another show in the Glob Theater, “Welcome to Monstropolis.”

These are just a few of the rides that could close in the coming years, but we can’t forget about the ones we’ve already lost. This includes our beloved DINOSAUR. The attraction closed in February 2026 to make way for an Indiana Jones-inspired attraction as part of the new Tropical Americas area of Animal Kingdom. If you miss this ride as much as we do and want a way to remember it, grab our “Final Roar” T-Shirt!

We’ve also said goodbye to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, which was replaced by the Muppets and the Electric Mayhem. You can pay homage to the former attraction with the Peace Out Tour T-Shirt!

And speaking of the Muppets, we also said goodbye to Muppet*Vision 3D. The beloved Hollywood Studios show closed to make way for Monstropolis in May 2025, but it will never be forgotten, especially if you have the A Salute to Muppet*Vision T-Shirt!
