A heat advisory has been issued for Central Florida for Thursday, July 4, which includes the Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort areas, due to expected high temperatures.

Heat Advisory in Effect for Central Florida

The National Weather Service (NWS) advisory was issued at 1:51 a.m. on Thursday, and includes the following areas:

The advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. EDT, with heat index values expected to reach 110 degrees Fahrenheit. The NWS advises that individuals take proper precautions, including:

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

These high temperatures and humidity levels may cause heat illness, per the NWS, so be sure to take whatever measures necessary to keep yourself safe when visiting Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando Resort today.
