The original 1974 cast of the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue recently visited Pioneer Hall at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in honor of the show’s 50th anniversary.
Original Hoop-Dee-Doo Cast Reunites
The Walt Disney World Cast and Community Facebook page shared photos of the original cast with the caption: “We recently honored the original 1974 cast of Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Fort Wilderness. Their intern-led show became a permanent fixture and one of America’s longest-running dinner shows!”
The show debuted on June 30, 1974, with a cast of Disney World Fine Arts College Workshop summer interns. The former interns danced on the stage again and met the Cast Members who now portray Six Bits Slocum, Dolly Drew, Jim Handy, Flora Long, Johnny Ringo, and Claire de Lune.
The gang previously reunited for the show’s 40th anniversary.
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is a two-hour dinner show performed three times nightly on Wednesdays through Sundays. Special Hoop-Dee-Doo 50th anniversary merchandise is available to purchase across from Pioneer Hall at Settlement Trading Post.
