Happy Pride Month, everyone! This is the time of year when we get to literally “taste the rainbow” of Disney World snacks, and we’ve eaten our share of Pride treats recently, including a Pride Mousse Dome with Mickey Ears. There are a ton of other Pride snacks to grab, though, so we’re making our way around Disney World to eat our fill of rainbow treats.
We recently headed to Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs to try a new snack there, and let’s just say — it didn’t go as well as we might have expected.
Meet Amorette’s special limited-time treat, the Rainbow Love Mousse Bar for $7.25, which has been released in honor of Pride Month. It’s made with Orange Dream Mousse with Crispy Cereal Crunch and Orange Passion Curd.
So, this snack is certainly worthy of ALL the Instagram photos, but um…we’ve got some bad news — this snack didn’t do it for us. The orange flavor tastes artificial and way too sugary. The “crispy cereal crunch” is a layer of cereal that tasted a LOT like Fruity Pebbles on the bottom, with the pieces being held together with marshmallow fluff. This cereal tasted STALE.
Then you’ve got the powdered sugar on top, and y’all, add that to the cereal and the marshmallow fluff, and it’s just TOO much sugar. Yes, you can have too much artificial sugary stuff and this was definitely that for us.
We will say, though, that the Orange Dream Mousse itself was creamy and smooth — can we just get that by itself? Like we think that would be a hit. Overall, though, this snack is a miss for us. If you want something to take pretty photos of? Sure, buy it. But we think there are better Pride snacks out there (like that previously-mentioned Pride Mousse Dome we found at Creature Comforts in Animal Kingdom).
We’ll be trying even more of the new Pride snacks this month, though, so you’ll want to stay tuned to DFB for more reviews.
