Yacht Club Exterior Refurbishment Wraps Up at Disney World

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is finally free from its exterior refurbishment. Walt Disney World removed the resort’s exterior maintenance notice from its website today, closing the book on work that has surrounded the hotel since spring 2025. We stopped by to grab some updated photos of the resort, while roof work continues next door at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Here’s the latest.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort spent the better part of two years behind scaffolding and construction walls. That stretch ended today, when the resort’s refurbishment notice dropped any mention of exterior maintenance. The change came one day after the resort’s 36th anniversary on November 5th.
Yacht Club Refurbishment Notice Removed
Until this morning, the Yacht Club’s page on the Walt Disney World website opened with a warning about the work. Disney’s notice read: “Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is undergoing visible exterior maintenance through late 2026, which will impact views from various locations throughout the Resort hotel and, at times, require alternate paths of travel. Guests may see or hear work in the area during daytime hours until the refurbishment is complete.” That language is now gone, and the only notice left on the page covers the upcoming Disney Skyliner refurbishments.
The project traces back to March 2025, when Walt Disney World filed a permit for roof repairs and exterior refurbishment. By April, crews were replacing large sections of roof shingles and siding while the Stormalong Bay refresh continued nearby. As we reported then, the work was meant to keep the resort in great shape for its next 35 years. Walt Disney World later extended the Yacht Club’s exterior maintenance through late 2026, and the work wrapped up within that window.
We stopped by to take a look at the resort, and the hotel looks ready for its close-up again. Guests checking in for the holidays won’t have to plan around construction views or detours at this resort anymore. Crew’s Cup Lounge and Yachtsman Steakhouse both reopened earlier this year after their own refurbishments, so every lounge and restaurant at the Yacht Club is open again. Full steam ahead, captain!

Beach Club Work Continues Into 2027
Next door, roof work continues at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, where Disney says visible exterior maintenance will continue through late 2027. Disney notes the work may affect views from parts of the hotel and require alternate paths at times.

Guests at both resorts should also plan around the next two Disney Skyliner refurbishments, now listed on the Yacht Club’s page. Walt Disney World first announced the 2027 Disney Skyliner refurbishment dates last year, and the 2028 window has since joined it:
- January 24 through 30, 2027
- January 24 through February 2, 2028
Disney says complimentary bus service will be available during both closures.
