One person is dead, and an investigation is underway after a crash in Melbourne, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened Friday night around 8:15 p.m.

According to an FHP report, a 2019 Honda Insight was hit as it exited a parking lot on Wickham Road by a truck approaching the Capron Trail intersection. Both cars ran off the road.

A 42-year-old woman in the Honda Insight died at the hospital, and two people in the other car had non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation.
