Phoebe Bridgers is taking her new album to the stars, with the singer announcing Thursday (Aug. 6) that she’ll be debuting Lost Weekend with a planetarium experience available for fans all over the world.

Ahead of the LP’s release on Aug. 14, a slew of planetariums across the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand will offer special listenings starting Aug. 10 in partnership with Spotify. At each location, the music will be paired with one of two different visual experiences — either a dome show designed by photographer Babak Tafreshi or an immersive laser spectacle from Laser Fantasy.
Tickets for the planetarium listenings are available for purchase now online. Similar to Bridgers’ run of intimate acoustic shows earlier this year, attendees will be required to secure their phones in Yondr pouches to ensure that no recordings are taken inside the experience.
Also in the leadup to Lost Weekend, Bridgers has announced more than 300 midnight listening parties across the globe, with ticket info available online. The events will take place at locations in the U.S., Canada, Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, India, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.
Featuring lead single “Lost Boys,” the new album will mark Bridgers’ first solo LP since 2020’s Punisher, which reached No. 43 on the Billboard 200. She went on to earn critical acclaim for her work with boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker on The Record, which peaked at No. 4 on the albums chart and took home three Grammys in 2024.
Some of the lyrics on Lost Weekend have already sparked chatter online, particularly a few lines in “The Governor’s Waltz” that The Guardian included in its recent pre-release review of the project: “She can pretend to be me/ Since she took my place in my bed on that stage.”
Fans are convinced that the bars reference Gracie Abrams’ relationship with Paul Mescal, whom Bridgers used to date and was reportedly engaged to — something she appears to confirm on another song. On “Lost Weekend,” she sings, “I was supposed to be married, but I called it off.”
