Construction continues to progress on the new shade structure being built at Waterview Park in Disney Springs, with the latest changes including new stain and trim.

Waterview Park Construction Progress

Waterview Park at Disney Springs is located between Jock Lindsay’s Hangar Bar and The Boathouse in The Landing and features an open-air performance spot and guest seating. Mint-colored construction walls have surrounded the entire area since it closed for refurbishment back in May.

Since our last update, the vertical and horizontal support beams for the shade structure have received new stain and trim. Back in July, the beams were a honey brown color, as shown in the previous comparison photos.

All the beams are now stained a dark brown, and the horizontal beams have been capped with a thin copper layer. Blue painter’s tape surrounds the black riveted panels connecting the vertical and horizontal beams, suggesting the stain was applied very recently.

Rolling planters placed by the fencing and on the stage still block most of the construction progress from view.

From another view, we could see several piles of materials placed in front of the stage, including a stack of wood slats. An orange forklift and a blue construction vehicle – likely a boom lift – can also be seen.

During this construction period, the performers can be found in Riverboat Square, in front of Paddlefish. Though the refurbishment was expected to last about a month when it was first announced, the Walt Disney World website notes that Waterview Park will reopen “later this year.”
