Sometimes your favorite shows only get one season, or the story ends earlier than expected if the streaming service decides to cancel the show before the story has naturally come to a close.

Fortunately, that’s not the case with Ahsoka, a popular show in the Star Wars universe on Disney+. We’re at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this weekend, and we finally got more information on the second season of this show!
During the Entertainment Showcase at D23, Disney released the trailer for season two of Ahsoka. The new season will premiere January 20th, 2027 on Disney+!

Previously, it had been announced that Season 2 of “Ahsoka” would come to Disney+ in 2027. Ahsoka Tano herself, Rosario Dawson, announced the news in May 2026 and said that the stakes are higher and the battles are bigger in the new season. The storyline of the new season continues the story from season 1, where Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren were stranded in the Peridea Galaxy as they navigated the dark secrets of the Mortis Gods. At the same time, the newly escaped Admiral Thrawn uses his forces to attack an unprepared New Republic.

Returning to the cast this season are Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, and Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati. Rory McCann has joined the cast to continue the story of Baylan Skoll after Ray Stevenson, the original actor, passed away. Filming for the second season took place between April and October 2025 in the United Kingdom, so yes, it’s been in the editing room for a while!
