A Belle Isle man is facing boating under the influence charges after a crash between his boat and a personal watercraft left two people injured, police say.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. Saturday on Little Lake Conway.
According to an arrest report, 63-year-old Steven Adams’ orange and white boat collided with a blue Yamaha personal watercraft. The two riders on the PWC were transported to the hospital with apparent arm injuries, police said.
Adams initially left the scene before officers located him at the Perkins Boat Ramp. He admitted to operating the boat at the time of the crash. Officers noted Adams had bloodshot, watery eyes, slow movements, and an odor of alcohol on his breath, the arrest report states.
Adams performed poorly on field sobriety exercises and later refused to provide a breath sample.
Adams was charged with boating under the influence and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
