The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at Disney California Adventure is completely surrounded by construction walls, scaffolding, and black scrims. The ride does continue to operate during the exterior refurbishment.
The Little Mermaid Ride Construction

When we first reported on the refurbishment two weeks ago, there were some walls and scrims near the ride’s entrance and right side. Now almost the entire building is blocked from view. There are gaps in the walls for guests to enter the ride.

Seashell-shaped signs on the construction walls point guests to the entrance.

The King Triton statue is visible peeking above the black scrims.

The walls and scaffolding run behind the merchandise kiosk.
If the refurbishment takes a while, Disney may replace the black scrims with themed scrims that look like the building, so guests have something a little nicer to look at.
