Brew-Wing Lab at the Odyssey

New! Buffalo-Dill Pickle Wings – $7.79
with house-made pickle ranch

These are over-sized wings, which may be a turn-off for some people. This has an overpowering pickle flavor, even without the pickle ranch. We hoped the ranch would cool off the wing, but it just intensified the ranch flavor even more. The chicken is tender and juicy, but the breading is just not crispy enough.
Rating out of 7: 2
Garlic-Parmesan Wings – $7.79

These are super greasy. It’s hard to even get to the point where you can taste the garlic parmesan because they’re so oily. Overall, the wings were mediocre. They aren’t crispy at all. We suspected it would be hard to mass-produce wings for an EPCOT festival and were not wrong.
Rating out of 7: 2
Korean Barbecue Wings – $7.79
with gochujang barbecue sauce and toasted sesame

It took a second for the spice to cut through the sauce on these wings, but the coating is crispy with juicy, tender chicken inside. These are extremely messy, but very tasty.
Rating out of 7: 5
Unnecessarily Spicy Yet Extremely Tasty Carolina Reaper Pepper-Curry – $7.79
with creamy cucumber raita

These are predictably hot. The spice was tolerable but intense, at least to our group, who are accustomed to eating spicy offerings at Disney. You probably won’t find anything spicier at Walt Disney World right now. The sauce seems to be a paste applied to the wings, and it adds a bizarre layer to the texture before your mouth is overwhelmed by heat. Overall, this is a solid offering.
Rating out of 7: 6
New! Sweet Chile-Lime Plant-based Chicken Strips – $7.79
with plant-based cilantro crema and spicy peppers (Plant-based)

We didn’t get a lot of heat from the sauce itself, but more from the peppers on top. It’s a little sweet, and we could taste a lot of vinegar in this. However, we prefer the old plant-based buffalo wings. It’s a nice portion with four of the strips, and we appreciate a plant-based meat option for the festival.
Rating out of 7: 4
Fried Pickle Spears – $5.79
with dill ranch

These are pretty much your standard restaurant fried pickles. Note that they are spears, not chips. Some people think chips are superior…. some people like the spears better. We don’t really care one way or the other. The sauce on top has an unremarkable flavor. We would rather have normal ranch.
Rating out of 7: 5
Pickle Milk Shake (non-alcoholic) – $6.19

This remains one of the most talked-about items of the festival. It’s super milky on the front end. It has a strong dill flavor that lingers, but the dill overtakes the pickle. We would get it again, but if you don’t like pickles, you will definitely hate this shake. Of course, the cup that you can take home may be another incentive to try it.

Connections Eatery

New! BBQ Braai Chicken Pizza – $12.29
Two slices of freshly baked pizza topped with tamarind BBQ, arugula, cheese blend, onions, and piri piri sauce

The smoky chicken is delicious and tender, and the barbecue-infused sauce is great, too. The cheese mixed with the smoky chicken and sauce is a beautiful combination. Our own issue with this dish is that the crust is a bit thin and chewy. It was a decent value for the two slices you get.
Rating out of 7: 5
New! Caramel-Apple Cheesecake Baumkuchen – $6.49

This is pretty good, and the textures of the crumble, cream, and caramel are nice. We were a bit divided on whether or not the cake was moist or dry. It’s an exceptional dish. We thought it may be too sweet, but it’s really not. The caramel sauce is unbelievably good.
Rating out of 7: 6
New! Frozen Waffle Old Fashioned – $17.50
A frozen blend of Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky, maple syrup, butterscotch syrup, and angostura bitters topped with a liege waffle and cherry

We love the butterscotch flavor with the whisky, especially in this hot weather. It’s not overly sweet, and everything is perfectly blended. The waffle is frozen. It’s not terrible, but it doesn’t necessarily add anything to the drink. In fact, we aren’t sure it’s supposed to be eaten at all. It may just be a fun garnish.
Rating out of 7: 5
Connections Café
New! Pistachio-Chocolate Mochi Doughnut – $5.29

This was very stale and chewy. And it’s not like an undercooked chewy, it’s an old chewy. The pistachio flavor is very strong (and we enjoy pistachio!), and we could hardly taste the chocolate.

Gyozas of the Galaxy

New! Basil Pesto Chicken Dumplings – $5.99
Chicken dumplings, basil pesto, fonduta, tomato confit, and balsamic

The flavors in these chicken dumplings are fantastic. The competing balsamic and cheese flavors, mixed with the fonduta, make this dish a stand-out for the festival. We would eat this fonduta all by itself.
The edges of the dumpling itself are crunchy and then softer in the center. It’s like the perfect brownie pan edge piece, but for dumplings.
Rating out of 7: 7
New! Edamame Dumplings – $5.29
Butternut squash purée, caramelized onions, sage, and walnut-toasted garlic aillade (Plant-based)

This plant-based dish is very savory thanks to the sage flavor that complements the butternut squash perfectly. We also really enjoyed the onion jam. Our only complaint is that the edge of the dumpling is chewy, but otherwise we really love this.
Rating out of 7: 5
Street Corn-style Dumplings – $5.99
Chicken dumplings with tomatillo salsa verde, street corn salad, cotija, lime crema, and cilantro

The texture on these is perfect, and if you don’t like spicy foods, these will be a perfect alternative to the buffalo chicken. The cilantro might scare some people off, but it’s not too strong. The veggies were fresh, and the flavors worked together very well. The proportions of each ingredient were just right. Overall, these are another big winner.
Rating out of 7: 7
Flavors from Fire

Rodizio-style Grilled Beef Skewer – $6.99
with marble potatoes, charred shallots, roasted baby peppers, and chimichurri

We were given a nice, large serving size of this dish and were impressed by the tenderness of the meat. The flavor from the beef and vegetables is great, and overall, this dish is an excellent value for the cost.
Rating out of 7: 7
Smoked Corned Beef – $6.49
with house-made potato chips, cheese curds, pickled onions, and beer cheese fondue

The beer cheese fondue carries a lot of the dish, but the rest of it isn’t as memorable. When you get a chip with the pickled onion, the meat, and the fondue, it does have a really good balance in terms of its flavor profile. It has something salty with something a little bit sour, and an added crunch from the chip. There are lots of different textures, but without the fondue, this dish wouldn’t be as great.
Rating out of 7: 5
New! Smoked Chocolate Bread Pudding – $4.99
with chocolate ganache, vanilla bean-bourbon sauce, and smoked sea salt

This dessert isn’t bad, but it’s a bit weird because the smoke almost has a savory taste. There is too much smoke flavor that it overpowers the rest. And, the cake itself is kind of doughy and not fresh. It’s smoke and dough, essentially. It does have the gooey consistency more aligned with bread pudding. We were excited for this dessert, and it failed to impress us. We did like the vanilla sauce, and if we could eat this with a scoop of vanilla ice cream it would probably give it a higher rating.
Rating out of 7: 2
Swine Brine – $13
Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, apple-cinnamon cider, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard topped with a pork wing

In 2017, this surprisingly good drink was made with Evan Williams bourbon. In recent years, they’ve switched to the more well-known Jim Beam bourbon, but no matter – it’s still good! The Swine Brine is definitely one of the most unique cocktails offered at the festival, and many were surprised at just how good (read: weird) this ended up being. It’s a combination of apple juice, lemon juice, bourbon, and mustard, which sounds pretty terrible. Needless to say, everyone in our group grimaced before they tried it, but they ended up enjoying it more than expected. WARNING: Don’t dip the pork in.
Rating out of 7: 5
The Fry Basket

Adobo Yuca Fries – $5.79
with plant-based garlic-cilantro aïoli (Plant-based)

These were nicely cooked with a light, crisp outer layer. They have steak fry consistency and a generous amount of seasoning. The garlic cilantro aioli adds creaminess, but not much flavor to the fries.
Rating out of 7: 6
Fry Flight – $7.99
Sea Salt-Malt Vinegar Fries (Plant-based); Sweet Potato Casserole Fries with cinnamon sugar, candied pecans, and marshmallow cream (Plant-based); Truffle-Parmesan Fries with black garlic-truffle aïoli

All of the fries are cooked really nicely, soft on the inside and a light crunch on the outside. The salt and vinegar fries tasted exactly as you’d expect. The sweet potato fries are the sweet option to contrast the two savory dishes. They have a cinnamon sugar seasoning. You don’t taste much of the marshmallow cream (ours melted), and the candied pecans add crunch. The Truffle-Parmesan fries were the least remarkable. They are just basic fries with a little bit of parmesan cheese. Compared to the others, they don’t offer much. We were split between 5 and 6, but the blandness of the parmesan fries wasn’t enough to drop the rating.

Sunshine Seasons
New! Mickey-shaped Celebration Macaron – $6.29

This treat is a callback to the 25th anniversary of Disney World, which was in 1996. This was also the first year of the Food & Wine Festival, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
Despite its beautiful presentation, this is just an overly sweet item that has the faint taste of a birthday cake. The cookies are perfectly made, and they’re very delicate as desired.
The cream in the center seems to be the culprit, just offering an overly sweet flavor of a child’s treat, like a Dunkaroo or eating frosting straight from a can. We were hoping for a lot more from this.
Rating out of 7: 3
Remy Milk Shake – $11.49
Strawberry-cheesecake milk shake topped with a cookie, mini cheesecake, white chocolate Eiffel tower, and a strawberry (non-alcoholic)

This is presented very well with adorable picnic-themed toppings. Even better, the taste lives up to the appearance. This tastes as if the cheesecake was made with strawberry Nesquik.

The toppings taste good in addition to the shake itself.

World Showcase
Australia
Location: Near Disney Traders
Grilled Bushberry-spiced Shrimp Skewer – $6.99
with sweet-and-sour vegetables and coconut-chili sauce

This is a relatively basic and unremarkable dish. On the positive side, the shrimp is not fishy and well-cooked. But other than the enjoyable sweet chili sauce, there’s not a lot going on here. The vegetables are bad — they’re kind of soggy and don’t have a good flavor. Five shrimp for $7 is a decent value, but this still gets a low rating.
Rating out of 7: 4
Roasted Lamb Chop – $8.79
with mint pesto and crushed salt and vinegar potato chips

The meat was rare. It was soft, tender, and fell apart when we cut it. It had a great flavor with a good lamb note, although the mint pesto was strong (and delicious). We were disappointed that the “potato crunchies” turned out to be crushed up potato chips, and not in very small pieces. They did add a nice bit of salt and crunch though. Overall, this was a really delicious dish, especially if you enjoy rare meat. With the sauce, it was a little greasy, so be sure to grab some napkins.
Rating out of 7: 6
Mixed Berry Pavlova – $4.79
with crunchy meringue shell, macerated berries, and whipped cream

The flavors in this dish are good. The berries were fresh and tasty, and the whipped cream was standard, but the meringue was tough and off-putting. We do not feel this really works as an overall dish.

Mexico

New! Tostada de Osso Buco – $8.25
Pork osso buco atop a fried corn tortilla with chipotle black beans, salsa verde, queso fresco, and chives

The center of this tostado is cold, and we’ve had better counter-service pork. It’s tender, but there’s no flavor. The flavors of everything else were just okay, but this was pretty uneventful in terms of festival food.
Rating out of 7: 2
New! Taco de Camaron – $8.50
Flour tortilla with crispy tempura shrimp, shredded cabbage, and chipotle aïoli

This is a 30th anniversary item. It’s quite crunchy. The shrimp is disgusting; it tastes very fishy and is below average for festival shrimp. No part of this taco is doing anything for us.
Rating out of 7: 2
New! Paleta de Moras – $7
Berry ice pop filled with sweetened condensed milk topped with chili-lime seasoning

This dessert was falling apart as we were trying to eat it. Get a spoon for this. The sweetness of the condensed milk cuts the tartness of the berry. The idea of this dessert is better than the execution. It won’t do well in a festival with hot weather.
Rating out of 7: 4
New! Cherry Nostalgia – $13.50
Blanco tequila, botanical liqueur, cherry, and lime with a hibiscus salt rim

Every Mexico margarita always tastes like Chloraseptic to us, and this one is no different. The salt rim melts quickly and runs down the side of the cup. The cherry isn’t too bad, but it does have that Chloraseptic taste to it.
Rating out of 7: 2
New! Fruta de la Pasiόn – $13.75
Blanco tequila, mezcal, tangy passion fruit purée, and citrus juice with a salty chili rim

Of the two drinks we had, this one is really bad. We would drink the cherry drink over this one. It just tastes like chemicals, and the after-taste is awful.
Rating out of 7: 1
Norway

New! Caramel Cream and Gjetost Norwegian Brown Cheese Bolle – $5.49

This is a little too sweet for us, but the cheese does add a bit of savory to the flavor profile. It tastes a little like a brown sugar cream cheese to us. This is very soft, which is a first for us. If you want a cream cheese-filled dessert this is it.
Rating out of 7: 5
China

New! Dumplings Trio – $7.35
Assortment of pan-fried chicken, pork, and vegetable dumplings with house-made sweet-and-spicy sauce

There are three different types of dumpling: chicken, pork, and vegetable. The sweet and sour sauce is the same on all of them, and it completely overpowered the filling in each dumpling. As a whole, the pork is the best filling. It has a nice ginger and garlic taste. The chicken dumpling did not have as much flavor as the pork. Finally, the vegetable dumpling tastes like a basic spring roll.
Rating out of 7: 6
Smoked Duck Bao Bun – $8.25
with pickled cucumber, scallion, and hoisin sauce

This is very small for the cost. The piece of duck is very thick and very dry. It does have a smoky taste, but the dryness overpowers the overall taste of the entire bite.
Rating out of 7: 2
Beijing Zhajiang Noodles – $8.50
with stir-fried minced beef, cucumber, chili, and carrots in a savory douban sauce

The minced beef is very well seasoned, but there is not much of it to be had. The noodles are also very salty and oily. Overall, this is a very forgettable dish.
Rating out of 7: 3
Baijiu Punch – $14.25
Baijiu spirit, lychee syrup, soda water, and piña colada mix

This is one of the most refreshing drinks of the festival, with subtle hints of the featured flavors. Nothing is overpowering, and the alcohol pour is relatively heavy. It’s a solid choice.
Rating out of 7: 6
Mango-Peach Bubble Tea – $7.95
Green tea, mango and peach syrups, and white boba (non-alcoholic)

If you like peach, you’re going to love this. If you don’t like peach, you’re going to hate this. It was very refreshing.
Rating out of 7: 5
Hainan Prosperity – $14.25
Tequila, vodka, Minute Maid Orange Juice, and mango syrup

This is exactly what it say it is: tequila, vodka, Minute Maid Orange Juice, and mango syrup. The basic flavor comes from the orange and mango juices, but overall this is nothing special.

Refreshment Outpost Hosted by Coca-Cola

Berbere-spiced Beef Stew – $6.79
with sweet potato mealie pap and kachumbari slaw

This dish is a little hearty for hot weather, but it would be good moving into the cooler months. It tastes like a basic beef stew and was slightly dry.
Rating out of 7: 3
New! Sweet Potato Mealie Pap – $5.79
with a stew of beans, peppers, carrots, and tomatoes (Plant-based)

First introduced in 2004, and we have fond memories of this dish. Everything is pretty mushy as there are no contrasting textures to make this more interesting. The flavors are great, however. It almost has a cheesy flavor and is very hearty. It’s a good healthy option for the festival, although may be best enjoyed later in the festival when the weather cools down.
Rating out of 7: 6
South African Cream Liqueur Chocolate Mousse – $6.29
with white chocolate ganache and chocolate-covered popping candy

This was really good. The dark chocolate cake was nice and moist, and the mousse was very light. The cookie adds to the flavor profile in a nice way.
Rating out of 7: 6
New! Midnight Safari – $17.50
Mansas African Whisky, G.E. Massenez Crème de Cassis de Dijon Liqueur, and sour mix garnished with blackberry and mint

This drink is a bit watery. It tastes like a blackberry tea and is very light. We find it to be very refreshing and drinkable on a warm day.

Germany

New! Wiener Schnitzel – $7.29
with breaded veal cutlet featuring HEINZ Brauhaus Mustard, warm Yukon Gold potato salad, bacon, watercress-radish salad, and lemon

This is heavy on the breading and not enough veal. It almost made the veal too dry. This could use some sauce to solve the issue of it being too dry.
Rating out of 7: 2
Schinkennudeln – $5.29
Pasta gratin with ham, onions, and cheese

This is another 30th anniversary item. It’s delicious but way too hot for this time of year. It tastes like a solid French onion soup with some toasty cheese. We have no critiques for this dish.
Rating out of 7: 7
Apple Strudel – $4.99
with vanilla sauce

While not particularly exciting, this dessert has become a staple at the Food & Wine Festival. The crispy and flaky exterior holds in large chunks of well-cooked apple and cinnamon with a plentiful side of vanilla sauce. We recommended it, especially at the price.
Rank out of 7: 5
Sommerfest

Zwiebelkuchen – $9.79
German onion cake with caramelized onions, bacon, herbs, and a savory custard

This looks and tastes great. It sort of reminded us a French Onion soup in tart form. It is very onion-forward and cheesy. We would have this again.
Rating out of 7: 5
New! Cinnamon Pretzel Cold Brew – $6.49
Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee with sweet cream, caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, and pretzel pieces

This cold brew looks better than it tastes. If you don’t like black coffee, you won’t like this very much. It’s very bitter if not stirred, so we recommend mixing it well before drinking. It’s cold and refreshing, which is a plus on hot days. It reminds us of Nescafe a bit. If you don’t want any of the other Joffrey’s festival drinks, this may be a good option for you.
Rating out of 7: 4
Spain

New! Croquetas de Jamón – $6.99
Saffron aïoli and shaved Jamón Serrano

That serrano ham is not good. It’s chewy and salty. The aioli has a bitter, artificial taste. The croqueta is fine with a nice crunch and good flavors. Everything else is low quality. If you want good croquetas and sliced ham, go to Jaleo at Disney Springs.
Rating out of 7: 3
Paella Caldoso – $7.99
Chicken, chorizo, gigante beans, romano beans, and saffron rice

This paella was not great. The rice was undercooked and the seafood provided a very fishy taste. Although the presentation was beautiful, the dish is not something we would get again.
Rating out of 7: 2
Basque Cheesecake – $5.29
with orange sauce

This is a perfectly delicate cake. It melts in your mouth. The flavors are just right and work well with each other. It has the right amount of citrus flavor from the orange sauce.
Rating out of 7: 6
Summer in Spain – $13
Frozen Simply Lemonade with herbal liqueurs

This was served very cold and icy, but was definitely not a slush. It has a sharp, bitter flavor, and the liqueur does not cut through the tartness of the lemonade.
Rating out of 7: 2
Italy

New! Stromboli – $8
Baked ham and provolone roll with Parmesan and tomato sauce

This tastes straight out of the microwave. It’s impossible to cut. The cheese is congealed. The crust is chewy and flavorless. The tomato sauce is coagulated. Lunchables-quality ham and parmesan are the only flavors we’re getting. It tastes microwaved.
Rating out of 7: 1
Pollo al Marsala – $9
Roasted chicken drumstick, creamy potato gnocchi, mushrooms, and Marsala sauce

This doesn’t look like a drumstick, which is off-putting. It’s flavorless. The drumstick is dry. The gnocchi and mushrooms aren’t bad but not good enough to make up for the nothing-ness of everything else.
Rating out of 7: 2
New! Almond Panna Cotta – $6
with orange marmalade, whipped cream, and candied almonds

The flavors are good but the consistency is all wrong. It’s liquid-y like melted Jell-O.
Rating out of 7: 3
New! Amaretto Bellini – $16
Luxardo Amaretto Liqueur, peach purée, and Prosecco

This isn’t bad. It’s crisp, refreshing, and balanced. If you like bellinis, you’ll like this.
Rating out of 7: 5
Italian Red Sangria – $14

Have you ever put red wine in the microwave? That’s what this is. We thought sangria came with ice and fruit, but this was just a room temperature liquid. The flavor was fruity, so it could have been really good, but as it got hotter, it was just too warm to drink.
Rating out of 7: 2
Italian-inspired Blood Orange Margarita – $15
Tequila, triple sec liqueur, and blood orange liqueur

We would ask how this is Italian, but considering the Italy Pavilion’s long history of bad and bizarre festival food, we’re probably beyond that question. It tastes like pink lemonade. It’s super tart, like there’s a pound of sugar in one cup. It’s barely passable, which makes one of the better things from the Italy booth.
Rating out of 7: 3
Block & Hans
New! Spicy Strawberry-Mango Smoothie – $6.29
Minute Maid Strawberry Smoothie Mix with spicy mango syrup (Non-alcoholic; Spirited version available with Ole Smoky Strawberry Moonshine)

This has a natural strawberry flavor but is very sweet. It also burns the back of the throat. You can add Ole Smoky Strawberry Moonshine, which would probably taste good.
Rating out of 7: 3
Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue Hosted by Coca-Cola

New! Blackberry Buckle – $4.79
with blackberry gelato and streusel

This has lots of blackberry. It’s tart, hot, and really good. Plus, we love the textures playing together. The streusel is really thick with a warm, baked underlayer. This blackberry tastes fresh and real. The only thing that might make it better is if there was another flavor other than blackberry, like vanilla gelato.
Rating out of 7: 6
New! Pumpkin Pie Milk Shake – $6.79
Vanilla ice cream, pumpkin pie filling, and caramel sauce topped with whipped cream and streusel (Non-alcoholic)

This tastes like bad pumpkin pie although it’s not awful. It’s not the delicious pumpkin flavoring from the Funnel Cake stand. It’s funky and earthy although creamy and rich.
Rating out of 7: 3
Hops & Barley

New! Smoked Brisket and Cheddar Melt – $6.49
Chopped smoked brisket, caramelized onions, tangy barbecue, and cheddar sauce on a potato roll

This doesn’t have a great presentation for Disney. It looks and tastes like school lunchroom food. There’s too much bread and not enough meat. The flavors are decent, it’s just pedestrian.
Rating out of 7: 4
Gulf Coast-style Seafood Roll – $8.99
with warm-water lobster, rock shrimp, lobster bisque, and sherry crème fraîche on a toasted brioche bun

While this comes with butter to dip in, the roll does not need it. This was very good. The lobster was great and not fishy tasting at all.
Rating out of 7: 7
Freshly Baked Chocolate Pudding Cake – $4.99
with Kentucky bourbon caramel

This is a good chocolate lava cake, although we’ve never had a bad one. It instantly melts in your mouth. It has a rich dark chocolate flavor. The bourbon caramel sauce is a perfect accompaniment. It’s not ideal for hot weather, but it will be the perfect dessert later this fall.
Rating out of 7: 6
Funnel Cake

New! Pumpkin Pie Funnel Cake – $12.50
Funnel cake with pumpkin pie ice cream, whipped cream, dark chocolate sauce, cinnamon streusel, and powdered sugar

The ice cream is outstanding. It has a creamy pumpkin flavor — the most pleasant pumpkin flavor we’ve had outside of pumpkin pie. The funnel cake itself is perfect with a crispy exterior and soft interior. The streusel on top adds a crunch.

Japan

Spicy Temaki Hand Roll – $9
Temaki hand roll with spicy tuna, cucumber, rice cracker, and spicy mayonnaise sauce

We like everything in here except the tuna, which isn’t fresh and brings everything down. It’s not horribly spicy. If you’re spice-averse, you could still try this. You mostly taste the rice cracker, cucumber, and seaweed. It’s perfectly fine.
Rating out of 7: 4
New! Beef Wagyu Temaki Hand Roll – $10.25
Temaki hand roll with savory American Wagyu beef, pickled ginger, and spicy mayonnaise sauce

The beef is average and bland. It does not taste like wagyu. Again, the rice and seaweed are fine. If you want to try a hand roll, go with the tuna. Don’t waste your time on this.
Rating out of 7: 2
Teriyaki Chicken Bun – $8
Steamed bun filled with minced chicken, vegetables, and teriyaki sauce

Inside of this delicately prepared bao bun is a good amount of shredded chicken tossed in a sweet teriyaki sauce. The menu description says there’re vegetables in there, but there’s far more chicken than vegetables—and that’s a good thing! There’s a lot of value here in the relatively large portion for the price, especially in EPCOT festival terms. It’s a tasty and safe bet for this year.
Rating out of 7: 6
New! Mango-Apple Fruit Pearl – $6.50
Sweet and refreshing mango-apple drink with creamy calpico and apple popping pearls (Non-alcoholic)

You can get this drink with or without chips. There’s no alcoholic version. The drink is basic. It tastes like tart mango-apple juice. The boba pearls don’t really add anything.
Rating out of 7: 1
New! Mango-Apple Fruit Pearl – $10
paired with wasabi-soy sauce flavored potato chips

As for the potato chips, the wasabi-soy sauce isn’t evenly spread across the chips. Some of them are flavorless, some of them have a strong wasabi flavor. It’s not worth the upcharge.
Rating out of 7: 1
New! Autumn Breeze – $8.25
Light and fruity plum wine cocktail with kiwi syrup, Minute Maid Apple Juice, and a hint of yuzu

The plum wine is present but the yuzu is overpowering. We didn’t taste the kiwi syrup or apple juice. It’s a little oily.

Greece

Chicken Souvlaki Gyro – $6.99
with shaved lettuce, tomato-cucumber relish, and tzatziki on warm pita

The chicken was quite spicy, which is surprising because nothing in the description indicates it to be spicy. Otherwise, the chicken is a little chewy and not remarkable. There’s nothing that explodes with flavor here. You won’t be disappointed, but you won’t be blown away.
Rating out of 7: 4
Spanakopita – $5.19

This was sadly just not that good. Spanakopita should have a flaky, crunchy bite to it, but these were chewy. The phyllo was greasy. One of our reporters called it “the Sam’s Club.” The spinach and feta flavor was decent, but not worth the texture.
Rating out of 7: 4
Griddled Cheese – $5.49
with pistachios and honey

We really enjoyed this, as it has a nice, charred flavor. The honey, pistachio, and cheese are all great.
Rating out of 7: 7
Tangierine Café: Flavors of the Medina

New! Chermoula Chicken Hummus Bowl – $6.79
with apricot chutney and grilled shishito peppers served with pita

There are a lot of different flavors here. The hummus is nice and pleasant, and the chicken has a nice spice on it. We loved the little cherry tomatoes, and the vegetables were fresh. This is another healthier festival offering. It’s a little burnt, but in the best way. Our only complaint is that the portion is small.
Rating out of 7: 6
New! Spiced Flank Steak Hummus Bowl – $7.29
with harissa yogurt and roasted peppers served with pita

Another fantastic dish here at Tangierine Cafe. The steak is melt-in-your-mouth tender with a nice little kick to it. We also really liked the yogurt sauce, which also has a good amount of spice. The chickpeas provided another texture, which elevates the dish even more. We would pay for a whole entree of this.
Rating out of 7: 7
New! Ras el Hanout Cauliflower Bowl – $6.49
with chickpea salad, golden raisin relish, and parsley served with pita (Plant-based)

We loved this dish! It’s really good and the spices are very warm but it still feels light. The raisin relish is the stand-out star, and the cauliflower is nice and tender. We found the cucumber to be refreshing for a hot day in EPCOT. Overall, there is an earthy flavor but still light.
Rating out of 7: 7
Plant-based Falafel Wrap – $6.29
with tomato-cucumber relish and garlic sauce served on warm Moroccan flatbread (Plant-based)

The pita bread used for these is not great and tastes store-bought. The chermoula chicken version was okay, and we enjoyed the veggies. However, it needed more spice and seasoning Rating: 4/7). The Moroccan-spiced Lamb was a much better. It was slightly dry, but with all the vegetables, it made for a decent wrap (Rating: 5/7). The plant-based falafel was also very dry and didn’t taste great (Rating 3/7).

New! Chocolate-Pistachio Cookie – $4.29

This is a nice, soft cookie, but the flavors aren’t as profound as we were hoping for. It has a subtle dark chocolate taste with a hint of salty pistachio at the end. We wish the flavor matched how much we like the texture. It’s perfectly baked, but the ingredients don’t bring anything interesting.

Belgium

Belgian Waffle – $5.49
with cookie butter and whipped cream topped with speculoos cookie pieces

The Belgian waffle is unbelievable, we couldn’t get over it. It reminds us of Biscoff and is a great substitute for peanut butter. The waffle is sweet, too.

Beer-braised Beef – $6.79
served with smoked gouda mashed potatoes

Previously, the beer-braised beef was found on a waffle. A few years ago they decided it looked more attractive on mashed potatoes, and we agree. It’s also a lot easier to eat! The beef is ultra tender and falls apart with a fork, and there’s plenty of gravy and mashed potatoes to help soak each other up. It’s an absolutely fantastic dish, albeit not looking the most photogenic.

Chilled Belgian Coffee (non-alcoholic) – $5.29

This tastes like chocolate milk blended with a strong coffee. There’s not much more to it beyond that, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s pretty basic, but not a bad option for a pick-me-up in the late afternoon or early evening.
Rating out of 7: 5
Chilled Belgian Coffee – $12.50
with ChocoLat Deluxe Salted Caramel Chocolate Liqueur

This basically tastes the same as the non-alcoholic version, just with a hint of liquor.

Brazil

New! Moqueca de Camarão – $6.99
Plancha-seared shrimp, bell peppers, cilantro, and tomatoes in a rich coconut milk broth featuring BEN’S ORIGINAL Long Grain White Rice

The shrimp’s not too fishy. It is excellent and a much better quality than the Mexico one. The rice could be cooked a little better; it’s a little undercooked and hard. The sauce isn’t flavorful, just a little tangy.
Rating out of 7: 4
Pão de Queijo – $5.19
Brazilian cheese bread

It’s incredibly difficult to recommend these at the price for a piece of cheese bread, even if they are pretty spectacular. You can find a bag of Brazi-Bites in your local grocer for a fraction of the cost if you want to indulge in cheese paradise.
Rating out of 7: 2
Frozen Caipirinha – $12.50
with Cachaça spirit

A decent portion for the price that tastes like an alcoholic lemonade with just a bit more tartness than expected. It’s Brazil’s national drink, so they must be doing something right because it’s rather refreshing and enjoyable.

France

New! Boeuf Braise vin Rouge et Echalottes, Gâteau de Pomes de Terre – $9.50
Red wine-braised short ribs with shallot confit and potato gâteau

Overall, the dish is incredibly sweet. The beef is very tender and juicy. It will melt in your mouth. We are torn on the sauce, however. It’s almost too sweet and lingers. The potato has a rich, buttery flavor that’s complemented by the onion and wine sauce. We wish it was a little sweet, though.

Brioche aux Epices avec une Garniture Mornay de Trois Fromages – $8.95
Spiced brioche with a three-cheese mornay filling

This is very good for a simple cheese and bread dish. There is an unexpected savory flavor that we really enjoyed. The portion of cheese and bread is nice, and we would get this again.
Rating out of 7: 6
Trio d’Escargots, Garniture a l’ail et au Persil – $9.25
Trio of escargot bites in croissant dough served with a garlic-parsley dip

While the pastry is buttery and flaky, it is also slightly dry. We also wish the portion would have leaned more toward the escargot rather than the croissant. Overall, these are good with a great sauce.
Rating out of 7: 5
New! Crème Brûlée Pistache, Confiture de Fruits Rouges – $7.95
Pistachio crème brûlée with berry compote

This is nice and pleasant. The burnt caramel with the pistachio is fantastic, and the berries bring it to a whole new level.
Rating out of 7: 6
Chilled French Cosmo – $15.50
Vodka, Grey Goose Le Citron Vodka, Grand Marnier Liqueur, and Simply Cranberry Juice

This a very simple drink that just tastes like cranberry juice and liquor. While it is not anything creative, it is definitely something that would be easy to drink. It could be improved as a slush or over ice.

New! Sparkling Cucumber-Gin Cocktail – $17.50
Fords Gin, blackberry brandy, cucumber syrup, Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, and Maschio Prosecco

This drink has a very overpowering cucumber syrupy taste. It’s pretty bad. You can’t even taste the gin due to the cucumber.

New! Northern Ruby – $17.50
Rhubarb liqueur, vodka, strawberry, ginger, and lime

This drink is spectacular. It’s very tart and sweet, kind of like the huckleberry punch at Geyser Point. It has the right amount of alcohol, too, so everything is well balanced. It’s very refreshing with a nice summery strawberry flavor profile. And, we even got the rhubarb in there!

Cheddar and Bacon Soup – $6.29
Served with a pretzel roll

This soup is creamy and has bacon bits throughout. Hints of cheddar cheese make this the best soup on property. It is very hot out for soup, but it still hits the spot. We recommend dipping the pretzel bread into the soup. As good as it is, the price is still a bit high for the portion, but year after year, we keep coming back.
Rating out of 7: 6
Filet Mignon – $10.49
with mushrooms and mashed potatoes

The filet is cooked to about medium. It remains to be one of the best festival items, as it’s well-cooked with really good flavor and quality. Compared to a lot of the other dishes, this filet remains the king of the festival. The mashed potatoes are very good, and we wish there were more of them. They’re beyond delicious! They have a cheesy flavor to them. We mixed in the butter with the potatoes, and they were even better.

La Poutinerie Hosted by Air Canada

New! Seoul, South Korea: Bo Ssam Pork Poutine – $11.99
French fries, cheese curds, bo ssam pork, gochujang gravy, kimchi pickles, aïoli, and sesame

The fries are great, like we mentioned in our review of La Poutinerie. The pork is tender and juicy, and there’s so much flavor here. It’s got smoky, as well as sweetness from the sauce. It’s very flavorful. If you don’t like kimchi, don’t worry, because you don’t really taste it in this dish.
Rating out of 7: 7
New! Spiced Apple Slushy – $6.29
Frozen ginger beer blended with lively lime and cozy spiced apple flavors (Non-alcoholic; Spirited version available with Iceberg Canadian Vodka)

Our biggest complaint is that it’s so thick you can’t get anything out using the straw. If you like potent ginger beer, this is great. It’s very refreshing with the apple.

Shimmering Sips

Strawberry Champagne Trifle (Plant-based) – $5.79

This was weird. It has a clear, sparkling layer that added a strange consistency. Eating this is like drinking champagne jello. The strawberry flavor is nice, but the champagne gel kills the rest of the dish. Our tip would be to mix it up to combine flavors for the best taste.

Hawai’i

Slow-roasted Pork Slider – $5.99
with sweet-and-sour chutney featuring DOLE Pineapple and spicy mayonnaise on a Hawaiian roll

The pork slider has become a Food & Wine staple, much like the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup. Expect a small bun full of tender pulled pork topped with a potent pineapple chutney and slathered in a spicy mayonnaise. It’s a really great sandwich that feels worth the money.
Rating out of 7: 6
Hawaiian Rice Bowl – $6.29
SPAM, eggs, eel sauce, spicy mayonnaise, and furikake

This was terrible. The only thing we tasted was salt. The spam chunks were huge and gross. The Furikake flavor came through a bit, but not enough to save this. Don’t even think about getting this. It’s a must-skip.

Walkway Between Imagination! Pavilion and World Showcase
Bramblewood Bites

New! Brûléed Sweet Potatoes – $4.99
with dried cranberries, walnut streusel, and orange goat cheese

This wasn’t served as warm as we were expecting. It does have a sweet sugar layer, and the flavors are good; however, it’s nothing spectacular. We like the preparation of the sweet potato and the sweetness from the Brûlée is pleasant, but the greens don’t do much for it. It doesn’t have the right accompaniments.
Rating out of 7: 3
Grilled Cider-brined Pork Tenderloin – $7.19
with chili-apple butter, celeriac-apple slaw, and apple cider gastrique

This is phenomenal. The pork is incredibly tender and well-seasoned. The slaw gives a nice crunch with a subtle heat countered by the apple cider gastrique. It’s also a good portion for the price.
Rating out of 7: 7
Cast Iron-seared River Trout – $7.29
with vanilla-butternut squash purée, Brussels sprouts salad, candied pecans, spiced pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, and maple dressing

This was presented beautifully, and the skin was very crispy. We questioned if this was actually from a booth. The fish is perfectly cooked and tastes like it could be served at a table service. The butternut squash purée and brussels sprouts salad also gave it a dimensional flavor that surprised us. We will get this again.

Milled & Mulled

Butternut Squash and Ginger Bisque – $5.49
with cinnamon cream, toasted pumpkin seeds, and pumpkin seed oil

For a soup on a hot day, this was very good. We will definitely return to get this in the cooler months. We would consider this one of the best soups we’ve ever gotten at an EPCOT festival.
Rating out of 7: 7
Freshly Baked Carrot Cake – $4.99
with walnuts and cream cheese icing

This carrot cake is served warm and with delectable cream cheese icing on top. The flavors match a proper carrot cake, and we feel this dessert is safe for even the pickiest of eaters. At the price, you can’t go wrong.
Rating out of 7: 5
Apple-Cinnamon and Caramel Mini Churros Sundae – $5.29
with vanilla bean gelato

Even though it tastes like an upscale McDonald’s apple pie, it was very good and a great addition to a day full of eating.

Forest & Field

New! Spicy Black Bean-Mushroom Chili – $5.99
with plant-based sour cream, plant-based cheddar, and cornbread croutons (Plant-based)

The chili has some spice to it. In fact, it’s the perfect amount of spice for anyone to enjoy. The mushrooms give it a meaty flavor, so you’re not missing on that. We really liked the creaminess of the sour cream, too. Even though this doesn’t have meat, we don’t feel like there is anything missing from it.
Rating out of 7: 7
Pumpkin-Mascarpone Ravioli – $5.49
with brown butter vinaigrette, pecorino cheese, pomegranate seeds, and hazelnut praline

This is another great dish at the festival this year. The savor of the brown butter mixed with the sweet of the pumpkin is phenomenal. The pasta is perfectly cooked; it’s not too chewy but not too soft.
Rating out of 7: 7
Schiacciata Sandwich – $6.29
Mortadella, Prosciutto ham, sun-dried peppers, arugula, Stracciatella Cheese, fall squash mostarda, and pistachio pesto on warm focaccia

This was a very standard and basic sandwich. We truly thought this was going to be disappointing and stale, but overall, the flavors were good and the bread was decent.

Swirled Showcase

Liquid Nitrogen Almond Truffle Mousse – $5.49
with whiskey-caramel sauce

This was also great with a nice chewy texture that lasts a long time. There are a lot of nuts. Overall, it reminded us of a hot fudge sundae as it melts.
Rating out of 7: 7
Soft-serve (with optional Waffle Cone) – $6.29
Vanilla, Apple-Cinnamon, or Salted Caramel

We tried the apple-cinnamon flavor. This was delightfully creamy with a lot of cinnamon. The apple flavor then becomes prominent at the end. It reminded us of the milk flavor after eating cinnamon sugar cereal, just with apple as well.
Rating out of 7: 7
Irish Milk Shake – $13
Guinness Stout, Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur, and vanilla ice cream

This is a smooth, rich, and creamy shake that is simply to die for. There’s a hint of Bailey’s cream liquor and an underlying flavor of Guinness Stout. The chocolate flakes help bring this mixture together into one perfect drink. For the price including the souvenir Ireland plastic cup, we think this is deserves the Festival Favorite designation.
Rating out of 7: 7
Strawberry Beer Float – $13.25
Früli Strawberry Belgian White Beer and vanilla soft-serve

Although an odd pairing, this works. The beer is very strawberry-forward, so it pairs well with the ice cream. We would not necessarily get this again, but it might be for you. In a world where beer and ice cream shouldn’t go together, it’s better than average.
Rating out of 7: 4
Frozen Szarlotka – $13
Apple pie filling, apple-cinnamon cider, and Żubrówka Bison Grass Vodka topped with streusel

There’s a lot going on in this drink. It’s refreshing but very strong. It’s got a sweetness with a lot of cinnamon and a hint of apple, but it’s mostly liquor.
Rating out of 7: 6
Frozen Szarlotka – $6.79
Apple pie filling and apple-cinnamon cider topped with streusel (Non-alcoholic)

This version is fun for the kids. It’s very good and is a fun frozen apple drink with a hint of cinnamon.

New! Affogato alle Mandorle Cold Brew – $7.49
Joffrey’s Affogato-flavored Cold Brew Coffee with almond syrup and oat milk topped with whipped cream and toffee nut sauce (Non-alcoholic; Spirited version available with Grey Goose Vodka) — The American Adventure

We really liked this. It’s similar to the others but a little sweeter without being overly sweet.

There’s a nuttiness from the almond syrup and toffee nut sauce. There’s a hint of affogato flavor.

New! Affogato di Marshmallow Cold Brew – $7.49
Joffrey’s Affogato-flavored Cold Brew Coffee with toasted marshmallow syrup and oat milk topped with whipped cream and graham crackers (Non-alcoholic; Spirited version available with Grey Goose Vodka) — Near Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Cast Members seemed confused about adding the shot of Grey Goose Vodka to our beverage, so this drink does not have it.
This is a very sweet drink, and the marshmallow is the overpowering flavor here. Once you get over that initial surprise, there is a nice vanilla ice cream flavor that comes through on the back end. Overall, it’s just really sweet.
Rating out of 7: 2
New! Dolce Affogato Cold Brew – $7.49
Joffrey’s Affogato-flavored Cold Brew Coffee with sugar cane syrup and oat milk topped with whipped cream and rainbow sugar sprinkles (Non-alcoholic; Spirited version available with Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur) — Near Disney Traders

The sweetness kicks off the flavor profile of this drink, and the oat milk comes in at the end. It has a chalky consistency to us.

New! Notte di Caramello Cold Brew – $7.49
Joffrey’s Affogato-flavored Cold Brew Coffee with caramel syrup and oat milk topped with whipped cream and cinnamon (Non-alcoholic; Spirited version available with Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur) — Between UK and Canada

This is the worst Joffrey’s affogato offering this year. It’s watered down and tastes like caramel water. We can’t taste the coffee, and it makes us wonder if they made this wrong.
