Exterior refurbishment work has now expanded across an entire multi-tenant building in the Downtown Disney District.
Downtown Disney Refurbishment Expands
During our previous construction update, beige scrim covered the side of the Salt & Straw building, while colorful construction walls surrounded the ice cream shop and partially obscured the entrance to WonderGround Gallery.
The scrim has since been extended across the building’s full front façade, now covering the exterior above Salt & Straw, WonderGround Gallery, and Napolini Pizzeria. The material stretches from the roofline toward the temporary construction walls below, concealing most of the building’s architectural details while crews continue working on the structure.
Scaffolding and other supports are faintly visible behind the beige covering, particularly around the building’s taller sections. The colorful construction walls remain in place at ground level, with panels in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple lining the walkway.
Temporary signs identify the entrances to Salt & Straw and WonderGround Gallery through openings in the walls and scrim. The permanent Napolini Pizzeria sign and awning remain visible, and its outdoor seating area is not concealed by the construction barrier.
When work began, the black fabric awnings outside Salt & Straw and WonderGround Gallery had been removed, exposing their wood and metal supports. The expanded scrim suggests that the refurbishment now encompasses more of the shared structure than was initially visible.
Salt & Straw, WonderGround Gallery, and Napolini Pizzeria remain accessible to guests while the exterior work continues. Disney has not announced the full scope of the project or a timeline for its completion.
