Investigators are looking into a death reported out of Seminole County on Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies and detectives remained at the home on Tangelo Drive in the Sanford area late Wednesday night as the investigation continued, according to observations from the scene.

In a release, deputies announced that the case remains an “isolated incident,” with no threat to the public at large.

“The investigation is ongoing, and this is all the information we have available at this time,” the release reads.

Investigators were at the neighborhood since about 10 a.m., according to neighbors. A heavy law enforcement presence — including patrol cars and a mobile crime unit — remained in place roughly 12 hours later, with deputies blocking the road and detectives moving in and out of homes.

Several neighbors told News 6 off camera that a family with young children lives at the home where crime scene tape was spotted.

One neighbor, who has lived along this street for decades, said typically the only first responders she has grown accustomed to seeing are medical units checking on some of the elderly residents.

News 6 asked the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office about reports of a possible murder-suicide and whether children were in the home. In an emailed statement, a Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said: “We are not confirming the circumstances surrounding the death investigation or any additional details related to the incident — including who may or may not have been inside the home.”
