Closure and Reopening Timeline
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter will lose both sections of Scat Cat’s Club starting October 6th. Both the café and lounge are closing simultaneously, but reopening on different timelines. A December reopening is planned for the café. Disney is pointing to a January 2027 return for the lounge, considerably longer than the café’s closure.
No details have been released on what the refurbishment will change inside either space. Scat Cat’s Club has been a fixture of the French Quarter lobby area for years, pairing the café’s grab-and-go Mickey beignets with the lounge’s evening jazz and specialty cocktail menu. Guests staying at the resort this fall and winter will have to make some adjustments.
Where to Find Beignets and Coffee During the Closure
Disney is shifting beignet and coffee service to Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory while the café is shut down. It’s the resort’s quick-service food court, just a short walk from the lobby. Guests can expect the same Mickey-shaped beignets and specialty coffees there for the duration of the closure. Ghoulish Delight beignets, the cookies and cream version with a marshmallow crème drizzle, will also be available at Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory, but only through November 1st.
Temporary Bar to Cover the Lounge Closure
Disney is also setting up a temporary bar near the café to cover for the lounge’s much longer closure. It will operate from 5:00pm to 11:00pm, giving guests a place for evening drinks while the lounge stays closed into 2027. Exact offerings at this temporary bar remain a mystery for now.
Beignets and coffee move back into the café in December, but the temporary bar will likely need to stay in place well beyond that, since the lounge’s refurbishment runs another month past the cafe reopening.
