The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will reopen Friday morning, September 4, after refurbishment that began in June.

The lounge has technically continued to operate in a small outdoor space around the corner from the main patio. It will reopen in its permanent home beginning at 11 a.m. on September 4.

The biggest change to the space is the addition of a large awning jutting out from the building. The awning provides permanent shade and shelter when there were previously only umbrellas. It has hanging lights and ceiling fans.

The pavement was redone. The same old tables and chairs have returned with refreshed red upholstery. As before, some chairs have cushions and some don’t.

The outer wall now has concrete columns as the lamppost bases. Previously, the lampposts extended down alongside the black railings. The new lamps are less boxy than the old ones.

The golden horizontal supports of the overhang have been painted black since our last update. Gutters were installed.
