The Walt Disney Company has hired former Xbox executive Jennifer Creegan for a newly created marketing role.

Jennifer Creegan

Creegan will begin her role as head of marketing technology and operations on September 7, reporting to chief marketing and brand officer Asad Ayaz.

The position is part of Ayaz’s new enterprise marketing leadership team and, Disney said, “marks another step in the evolution of Disney’s global marketing organization and reflects the company’s continued focus on creating a more connected experience for fans.”

Creegan will work with technology and data teams as well as different divisions of the company including parks and experiences, film and TV, streaming, sports, gaming, and consumer products to give more insight into fans, enable faster and more informed decision-making, and create new opportunities to drive growth and deepen engagement around the world.

Creegan spent more than 20 years in Microsoft’s ad division, then became their head of Xbox strategy, business planning and insights. In that position she was “helping shape business strategy across product, content and monetization while evolving Xbox toward a more player-focused business.”

“There are more ways than ever to experience Disney today, and that gives us an incredible opportunity to bring fans closer to the brands and stories they love,” said Ayaz in a statement. “Jenn understands how technology and data can come together with innovative marketing approaches to help us show up for fans in fresh and unexpected ways. Her experience bringing it all together will be invaluable as we build our Marketing team leveraging technology to deliver a connected Disney experience.”
