A body was found at Lake Beresford near DeLand on Tuesday night and the Volusia Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

A boater found the body on the water’s edge of the lake, on the Hontoon Road side at around 7:51 p.m.

The sheriff’s office said the body appeared to have been in the water for an extended period of time.

Deputies do not have any information on the cause of death, and the body was not easily identifiable.
