Exterior refurbishment work around Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is moving along, now with large scrim coverings concealing the work area near the hotel’s private Disney California Adventure entrance.

Tan scrim now stretches across several stories of the hotel above and around the entrance in the Grizzly Peak area. The covering largely hides the scaffolding and façade from view, though a strip of the hotel’s green exterior trim remains visible between sections of scrim.

The muted color helps the temporary covering blend with the Craftsman-style hotel and its wooded surroundings. Dark green coverings and construction walls are also visible closer to ground level.

When we previously visited the area, aqua-colored scaffolding stood uncovered outside the hotel rooms overlooking the entrance. Crew members were seen repainting green trim beneath the balcony railings, while scaffolding extended above the entrance archway.

The added scrim now shields much more of that work from guests entering or exiting the hotel through Disney California Adventure. The entrance remains accessible for guests while the project continues.

Disney has not announced a completion date or detailed scope for the exterior work, which appears to be part of routine maintenance and repainting.
