A 26-year-old man accused of shooting at a woman in the parking garage of the Orange County courthouse in downtown Orlando, causing an hours-long lockdown at the complex, made his first appearance in court Thursday.

Kenneth Jerome Logan Jr. was denied bond and faces nine charges connected to the Wednesday incident.

• Battery (Domestic Violence)

A pretrial detention hearing is scheduled for Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office posted video on Facebook showing deputies escorting Logan to jail.

“Earlier today, a shooting inside the parking garage at the Orange County Courthouse halted court operations for several hours while our deputies investigated the attempted murder of a woman in the garage, who thankfully was not injured in the shooting. Deputies spent the afternoon searching for the known suspect, and we are pleased to tell you he was captured this afternoon,” the post said.

The incident was reported around 11:30 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies found a woman “who was shot at by a person known to her, but not injured.”

An arrest warrant says the victim had returned to her car in the parking garage when she noticed her driver’s seat had been moved. Then she saw someone in the backseat.

Investigators say Logan got out of the car and fired his gun twice at the woman, then chased her through the garage.

A witness at the scene told News 6’s Mike Valente that the woman told him her husband was the shooter.

“She was like crying so bad. I was like, you OK? She was like, ‘My husband tried to shoot me. My husband was trying to shoot me,’” witness Fero Alhajjah told News 6. “I was like, are you fine? You OK now? And she was like, ‘no, I’m not fine.’”

Alhajjah said law enforcement moved quickly after speaking with the woman.

Video from an employee shows deputies with long guns combing the roof of the courthouse parking garage.

The employee was in a hearing when she said a deputy came into the room and said they couldn’t leave the room because there was an active shooting situation. The hearing was halted in the meantime.

On the ground, the sheriff’s office bloodhound teams were seen tracking along Magnolia Avenue for the suspect.
