Universal Orlando Resort and Mack Rides, the company responsible for designing and creating Stardust Racers at Epic Universe, are facing a new lawsuit after a child was injured after riding the attraction in 2025.
Stardust Racers Lawsuit

In a complaint submitted on August 17, 2026, the plaintiff, Jennifer Lundy, claimed that her minor son, who is referred to as “L.L.” in the documents, lost consciousness as a result of forces generated on Stardust Racers on October 13, 2025.
The child had no head, neck, or upper body restraint or support while he was unconscious. As a result of this, L.L. sustained injuries to his head and face, along with orthopedic and spinal injuries. After getting off the thrill ride, L.L. needed medical assistance. Lundy claimed that the ride caused severe and permanent injuries.
The plaintiff wants medical care and treatment expenses to be paid for. She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages.

Lundy also claimed that Universal owed it to her family, as well as other guests, to operate and control Stardust Racers in a reasonably safe condition, as well as to notify guests when a ride isn’t safe.
On September 18, 2026, the case moved to federal court.
This isn’t the first time Universal has faced lawsuits regarding Stardust Racers. Previous lawsuits stated that the affected individuals suffered injuries after riding the attraction. They also alleged negligence in the ride’s design, operation, maintenance, and control.
The most tragic situation regarding Stardust Racers involves Kevin Rodriguez Zavala. Zavala, 32, was found unconscious after riding Stardust Racers at Epic Universe on September 17, 2025. He passed away from “multiple blunt impact injuries,” said the medical examiner. The final report of Zavala’s case stated that no criminal acts occurred in his death.
