Disney Cruise Line is replacing Key to the World cards with wristbands in a new test on the Disney Treasure. Instead of finding cards outside their staterooms, Disney says guests on the October 10th sailing will use wristbands. Guests with a DisneyBand+ check in as usual while Disney activates their bands, and guests without one will receive a wearable Key to the World wristband. Here’s the latest.

The October 10th Disney Treasure sailing is the setting for a test of a new wearable version of the Key to the World card. Disney says it is testing the wristbands as it looks for ways to make a Disney cruise vacation “even easier.” The wristband stands in for the card on this sailing.
Key to the World Wristband Details
Unlike DisneyBand+, the Key to the World wristbands only work on this sailing. Disney says they are not applicable to other Disney experiences. It remains to be seen what the wristbands look like. Disney Cruise Line has not shared further details on the test.
Guests are expected to return the wristbands when the cruise ends. Guests should return them in one of the collection containers located outside the Disney Cruise Line Terminal, Disney says.
Disney Cruise Line says it tries new things frequently, but “not all of them become part of our operation.” That leaves the future of the wristbands on other sailings in question.
For their sailing, instead of finding their Key to the World Cards outside of their stateroom, Guests with a DisneyBand+ will have their bands activated during check-in as usual. Guests without a DisneyBand+ will be issued a wearable Key to the World wristband as part of the check-in process. We are testing these new wristbands as we continue to look for ways to make a Disney cruise vacation even easier. Unlike DisneyBand+, they will only work on this sailing and are not applicable to other Disney experiences. Following the cruise, the Key to the World wristbands should be returned in one of the collection containers located outside the Disney Cruise Line Terminal. While we try new things frequently, not all of them become part of our operation.
