An Osceola County deputy was arrested after investigators determined he lied about what happened during a DUI stop last month, according to the sheriff’s office.
In a release, officials said the incident happened on Sept. 25, when Deputy Joseph Billittier responded to a call for a possible impaired driver near 1201 Simpson Road.
“A driver had called 911 after a Toyota Corolla, driven by a 67-year-old woman, was driving the wrong way on Royal Palm Road,” the release reads. “The driver of the Toyota eventually ended up in the median on Simpson Road, and the 911 caller removed the keys from the ignition of the Corolla.”

The 67-year-old woman was ultimately arrested for DUI and handcuffed in the front, investigators noted.
BATTERY CLAIMS?
However, the suspect reportedly told deputies that she’d broken her clavicle back in May, and her left arm was in a sling.
“The interaction between Deputy Billittier and the suspect became physical as she was placed in the patrol car and transported to jail,” the release continues.
According to investigators, Billittier accused the suspect of battering him during their interaction, but body-worn and in-car camera footage showed he was not, in fact, battered by her.
The sheriff’s office also asserted the footage showed Billittier “used an unnecessary amount of force” in handling her.
DEPUTY’S ARREST
As a result, Billittier was arrested on Tuesday and now faces charges of battery on a person 65 years of age or older; official misconduct; perjury in official proceeding; and falsifying public or court records.
“Accountability is not selective,” Sheriff Christopher Blackmon said. “If we demand lawfulness and responsibility from the youth of this community, we must demand an even higher level of integrity from the men and women who wear our uniform. Falsifying documents and harming vulnerable citizens strikes directly at the foundation of our justice system.”
Blackmon further confirmed that Billittier was immediately relieved of duty pending formal termination proceedings.
