A crash on State Road 429 in Orange County left a Florida Highway Patrol trooper and another driver seriously injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred just after 9 p.m. Tuesday night in the southbound lanes at mile marker 6 in the Bay Lake area, near Walt Disney World.

According to FHP, a 2026 Toyota Tundra was traveling southbound when the driver failed to move over for a marked FHP patrol car ahead. The patrol car was working in an active construction zone for a lane closure in the area. The front of the Tundra struck the rear of the patrol car as a result of the failure to move over.

The driver of the Tundra, a 53-year-old man from Davenport, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The trooper was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries but remains in stable condition.

Under Florida law, vehicles are required to move over a lane for an emergency, service, utility, and disabled vehicles, or slow down to 20 mph below the posted speed limit if it is not safe to move over. Violating the Move Over Law will result in a fine, fees, and points on your driving record.
