You may want to bring the rain gear today, but it depends on where you’re headed. Showers will be more common across southern Central Florida, while much drier air moving in from the north will keep rain chances lower across areas northwest of I-4.

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY

East-northeast winds will increase to 15 to 20 mph, with gusts occasionally reaching 25 to 30 mph. Some showers could also produce stronger gusts around 40 to 45 mph, especially along and south of the I-4 corridor.

Showers will be most common along the coast Wednesday morning, with some activity pushing farther inland.

A much drier air mass will begin moving in from the northwest, which should gradually cut down rain chances (10-30%) northwest of I-4 by late morning and into the afternoon.

South of Orlando, however, moisture will remain higher, keeping scattered to numerous showers and a few storms (40-60%) in the forecast through the afternoon.

Temperatures will stay close to normal, with highs in the upper 80s along the coast and near 90 inland.

COASTAL HAZARDS

The biggest concern at the beaches will be the combination of strong onshore winds and rough surf.

A high risk of life-threatening rip currents is in place at all area beaches, along with rough surf and a small craft advisory.

WEEKEND

By Friday and into the weekend, an upper-level low moving across Florida should help increase shower and storm coverage across more of Central Florida (60-80%).
