Two children who went missing Saturday were found dead after a search in a nearby pond, the Daytona Beach Police Department said.
5-year-old Elijah and 3-year-old Kashh were last seen near N. Clyde Morris Boulevard.

Police are investigating how the children died, but won’t be providing any additional details. They ask the community to be mindful of the family during this difficult time.
A vigil near the pond drew family and friends Sunday night to remember the two children. Attendees brought balloons to honor Cash and Elijah. The vigil remained lit Monday morning.
The tragedy comes as Florida continues to report a high number of childhood drownings. According to the Florida Department of Children and Families, at least 74 children had drowned statewide by late July. Florida recorded approximately 120 child drownings last year.
Those statewide figures are not specific to this case, and police have not confirmed drowning as the cause of death in this investigation.
