A death investigation that spanned well over a day in a Sanford-area neighborhood has turned out to be an apparent murder-suicide, according to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident was reported at a home along Tangelo Drive on Wednesday, with neighbors telling News 6 that investigators were at the scene from around 10 a.m. well into the evening.
Several neighbors told News 6 off camera on Wednesday that a family with young children lives at the home where crime scene tape was spotted.

On Thursday, deputies announced that they had found two dead individuals inside the home, which is what prompted the investigation.
“Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives have determined the incident to be a murder-suicide,” a release from the SCSO reads. “No other individuals inside the home were injured. This was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.”
No additional information has been provided at this time, including the identities of the deceased or the circumstances behind the incident.
