Dinosaur World to transform into prehistoric holiday wonderland

Dinosaur World to transform into prehistoric holiday wonderland

It’s almost time to deck the dinos, as Christmas at Dinosaur World is set to transform the park’s 20-acre jungle into a prehistoric winter wonderland.

Families can stroll through miles of twinkling Christmas lights past life-size dinosaurs, ride the Candy Cane Express Train, shop a Christmas Market and meet Santa on select nights.

“Christmas at Dinosaur World is our chance to surprise people,” said a park spokesperson. “Between the lights, Santa, and a taste of Swedish tradition with Varm Choklad (Swedish Hot Chocolate) and Swedish waffles, it’s a holiday outing unlike any other.”

This year’s celebration is packed with free add-ons for families. The Elf Workshop, face painting, and glitter tattoos are all included with park admission.

The Candy Cane Express Train winds through the park for a festive ride, Dinosaur World style. The Christmas Market is open 5 to 8:30 p.m. on extended-hour nights.

Santa is scheduled to appear from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 27–29; Dec. 4–6, 11–13 and 18–24.

Christmas at Dinosaur World

Christmas at Dinosaur World brings a slice of Scandinavian tradition to central Florida. Guests can warm up with Varm Choklad — Swedish hot chocolate — and fresh Swedish waffles alongside holiday staples like dirty sodas, slushies, nachos, popcorn, kettle corn and cotton candy.

Food truck favorites from Heifers B Trippin will also be on-site.

Dinosaur World is teaming up with Plant City neighbor Keel Farms — home of Keel & Curley Winery and Keel Farms Agrarian Ales and Ciders — to serve wine and cider at this year’s event.

Christmas at Dinosaur World runs Nov. 27 through Jan. 3. The park will be closed Dec. 25.

Extended hours of 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. are scheduled for:

  • Nov. 27–29
  • Dec. 4–6, 11–13, 18–24, 26–27
  • Jan. 1–3

All other days, the park is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
