Calling all runDisney fans! We’ve got some great news about new races, and you won’t even have to leave your house for them!

If you’ve been hoping for a way to participate in a runDisney race this Halloween season, we’ve just gotten new details on the NEW runDisney Virtual Spooktacular. Registration is opening up sooner than you think, so make sure you’re prepared!
The runDisney Virtual Spooktacular Challenge is a brand new event this year, and as it’s a virtual race, that means it takes place entirely from home — no need to book a trip to Disney World, which can help save a lot of money. There will be three different races that you can complete between October 1st and October 31st, making it a great way to ease into runDisney races. The cost is $185 for the races, and registration will open on August 11th at 10 AM EST.

The 3-mile race is the runDisney Dig & Dash, and the medal even lights up!

The second race is the 4-miler, which is called the Headless Horseman Pursuit. This medal also lights up, but also features audio!

Finally, you’ve got the 6-mile run, which is called the Eternal Waltz. This medal features Constance from the Haunted Mansion and comes with an Infinity Mirror.

You’ll also receive the 2026 Virtual Spooktacular Challenge medal for completing all three races. Now, with a virtual race, you’re going off the honor system, since there’s no way for Disney to really track if you’re doing the race. Instead, when you pay the registration fee, you’ll get all four commemorative medals sent to you, along with:
- Mickey Mouse Jack-o’-Lantern Wreath Light-Up Halloween Pin
- Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Plush Key Chain with Packable Tote Bag
- Rock ‘Em Headband
- Werther’s Original Premium Baking Caramels
- Digital Bib and Finisher Certificate
- Digital Race Tool Kit featuring Printable Mile Markers

Be sure to set those alarms for 10 AM ET on the morning of August 11th, because these races fill up WILDLY fast. You’ll need to act fast, so be sure you’ve got your card info right nearby, or even stored on your device, to help you save time at checkout.
