Crews are currently replacing the flooring of the boardwalk outside Riverside Mill Food Court at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside.

Boardwalk Refurbishment

The boardwalk is currently closed due to the construction. It runs around the exterior of the dining hall, past a large water wheel. The plank flooring of most of the boardwalk has already been replaced.

Many of the wooden railings have also been replaced as part of the ongoing project. Crews had yet to install new railings at two spots near one end of the boardwalk during our latest visit. The ropes below the wooden railings also appear to be new to the working area.

Flooring replacement is still underway at one end. Though crew members weren’t working during our weekend visit, there were open gaps visible between several planks. New boards were staged along the boardwalk for future installation.

For the duration of the project, signs are positioned inside and outside to direct guests around the closed walkway.

We do not know the timeline for the boardwalk refurbishment but it looks like it will be done soon.
