A building partially collapsed in Palm Bay on Wednesday, leading to the building’s evacuation.

The building was located in a commercial complex on Commerce Park Drive, off Lipscomb Street north of Palm Bay Road NE.

According to a Palm Bay Fire Rescue post on Facebook, heavy rain caused water to pool on the building’s roof, leading to the collapse.

About 25 people were safely evacuated from the building. No one was hurt.

The city sent in a structural engineering team to evaluate the building.

The city also shut off all utilities to the building and is determining what steps to take next.
