Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift has reached a major construction milestone, with the final sections of track installed a few hours ago at Universal Studios Florida.

As we reported yesterday, and in the images above and below, aerial photographer bioreconstruct shared views of the sprawling construction site, which showed the last remaining gap in the track layout.
In the close-up photo from yesterday, seen above, the tallest inversion only needed a few more track sections to complete the full layout of the track.
As reported by @bioreconstruct on X this morning, the final sections of track were placed before sunrise. Photos taken from outside the park show the tall inversion, which had been missing its highest track segments yesterday, was now installed and complete.
Trains will travel up the 170-foot spike, which twists 180 degrees near its peak, before reversing direction and returning through a sliding switch track. After making that descent and going through the track switch, they will travel through this very tall inversion.
This wide ground-level view shows the recently completed tall inversion in the center, along with the other tallest track elements, including the spike element on the right and another lower inversion, middle center, that trains will travel through as cars are returning to the station.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift replaces Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, which closed in August 2025. Universal has announced that the new coaster will open in 2027.
The park’s existing Fast & Furious – Supercharged attraction will permanently close on August 17, 2026, with its final day of operation scheduled for August 16.
