A familiar piece of The Darkroom has returned to its checkout area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but the shop is still missing another register.

During a recent visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we spotted the full wooden register counter back inside The Darkroom, located along Hollywood Boulevard. The counter once again features the substantial wood-and-black design that fits in with the shop’s vintage camera-themed aesthetic.

Full Register Returns

The restored checkout area can be seen near the entrance to The Darkroom, with Cast Members once again using the register station to assist guests purchasing merchandise.

The Darkroom primarily carries Disney pins, MagicBand+ products, and other smaller souvenirs.

The return of the full register is particularly noticeable because the checkout area had previously been configured differently.

But Another Register Is Still Missing

While the main register counter has returned, another register station remains absent from the location.

The current setup leaves a noticeably smaller checkout operation than the shop has had in the past. The missing station is especially apparent when looking across the store toward the checkout area.

For now, guests can still shop The Darkroom’s selection of pins, MagicBand+ products, and other merchandise before heading to the available register.

The Darkroom has long been one of Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ primary destinations for Disney pins and MagicBand merchandise. More recently, WDWNT found merchandise such as the Fantasmic! MagicBand+ at the location in 2025.

We’ll keep an eye on The Darkroom to see whether the second register eventually returns as well.
