The wet weather pattern continues across Central Florida, with rain and storms expected for the Labor Day holiday and much of the week.

MONDAY & TUESDAY

A weak front moving into North Florida could settle farther south Monday and Tuesday, helping keep moisture levels high across the region. With plenty of humidity, daytime heating and the daily sea breeze, storm coverage will be high.

Monday will likely feature 60-80% storm coverage, with some storms developing as early as late morning. Storms will then gradually move toward the east coast through the afternoon and early evening.

The biggest concern will be torrential rainfall, with 1-2 inches possible in a short period.

Some storms could also produce 40 to 50 mph wind gusts and frequent lightning.

Temperatures will remain seasonable, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Heat indices will climb above 100 degrees before storms develop.

THIS WEEK

High moisture will remain in place through the rest of the week, with daily sea breezes helping trigger afternoon storms. Rain chances stay around 60% to 70% each day from Wednesday through Sunday.

Storms will generally develop inland before shifting back toward the coast during the late afternoon and evening.

Temperatures remain close to normal, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and muggy lows in the 70s.
