The Lake Mary All-Stars defeated the Northwest Champions from Washington state 5-0 in Friday’s elimination game in the Little League Softball World Series.
Lake Mary staves off elimination and advances to Saturday’s Bracket Championship game, also known as the semifinals. Lake Mary put together a 4-run 4th inning to seize the momentum in today’s game with pitchers Brynn Fieser and Chloe Cheek combining to throw a shutout.
Lake Mary will face North Carolina Saturday at 6 p.m. in Greenville, North Carolina, for the right to play in Sunday’s World Series Championship. Lake Mary is the first team from Florida to advance to the Bracket Championship game since 2012.
