A house fire left one person dead and two others injured Friday morning, according to officials.
Volusia County Fire Rescue and the City of DeLand Fire Department responded to the fire on Central Parkway near Flamingo Road around 3 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with an adult woman outside the home who told them two adults — a man and a woman — were still inside, VCFR said.
Firefighters entered the residence and rescued both individuals, along with a family dog. All three victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. One burn victim was airlifted.
Two individuals suffered burn injuries and are currently receiving medical care. Their conditions were not immediately available.
Firefighters said the adult male died of his injuries. A second dog rescued from the home also did not survive.
