A Leesburg man is dead after an early-morning shooting Sunday in Tavares.
Police say they received a call around 2:20 a.m. that a man had been shot near Caroline Street, at the Caroline Court Apartments.
Police say they found 26-year-old De’Angelo Donta McKnight with a gunshot wound, and he later died at the hospital.
Police say preliminary information shows McKnight was standing outside a residence when two masked individuals pulled up in a vehicle, got out, and shot him before fleeing the scene.
Tavares Police say the investigation is on-going right now, and they’re asking anyone with information to call their non-emergency line.
