A few more trash cans and recycling bins around Epcot have received an upgrade.
Spaceship Earth Trash Cans

The new solar-powered trash cans were spotted underneath Spaceship Earth, which is located at the front of Epcot.
These updated trash cans have a white front along with the Epcot logo printed in gray. The sides are blue, and the opening and top of the trash can are black.
To open the trash can, guests use their foot to step on the silver pedal at the bottom of the bin, which opens the bin.
World Celebration Trash Cans

These updated trash cans have been changed in the very center of World Celebration and the areas near Connections Eatery and Creations Shop. However, the bins located on the paths leading to World Showcase still have the original trash bins where guests push the lid to open.
Throughout the summer, Disney has been replacing the original trash cans and recycling bins. Many countries in the World Showcase, including The American Adventure and Japan, have received updated ones. The American Adventure bins are red, white, and blue themed with a patriotic symbol on the front. However, they mysteriously disappeared back in July but were brought back in August.
During this rollout, we have witnessed confusion among guests around how to use the new trash cans. Disney has even recently released an instructional video on how to use them.
