The new Floridian Way roadway is now open at Walt Disney World. The road is part of a larger project to improve traffic around Magic Kingdom.
New Floridian Way

The stretch of new road is between the Magic Kingdom parking lot and the entrance to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. These photos were taken traveling from south to north.

For now, all drivers are using what will eventually be the southbound lanes while the northbound lanes are completed. Because work is not complete, guests will still see signs of construction like traffic cones and concrete elements.

There are temporary connector roads for accessing the Grand Floridian, the Wedding Pavilion, and Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Blue road signs point to these connector roads.

Two of three new roundabouts are complete, both located outside the Grand Floridian. The third will be to the south near the Magic Kingdom parking lot. The Grand Floridian entrance will eventually connect directly to one of the permanent roundabouts, while the Wedding Pavilion is expected to receive a new entrance south of its current location.

Here’s a look at the area from above thanks to Google Maps. The road marked as Floridian Way is now closed while the new lanes are open to the left, connecting to the original Floridian Way at the Maple Road intersection. The two lopsided circles in the aerial view are the roundabouts.

This is Phase III of the World Drive North project, currently expected to be completed in late 2027.
Recently, the intersection connecting Seven Seas Drive and Floridian Way permanently closed. Seven Seas Drive now terminates at the Polynesian’s main entrance, requiring drivers to use World Drive North to access the resort.
South Florida Water Management District recently approved a permit for an expansion to the Grand Floridian’s parking.
