A crash on State Road 100 in Flagler County left one person dead and three others with serious injuries Friday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at 7:18 p.m. near West Black Point Road.

How the crash unfolded

Three vehicles were involved. Two sedans and a pickup truck were traveling on State Road 100 when the first sedan rear-ended the pickup truck, according to FHP’s crash report.

The impact pushed the pickup truck off the road and into the tree line, where it rolled over.

The first sedan spun sideways into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a third vehicle — a second sedan traveling eastbound on State Road 100 approaching Black Point Road. The first sedan then rolled over and came to rest in a ditch on the south side of the road. The third vehicle — driven by a 34-year-old Ormond Beach woman — came to a controlled stop on the roadway.

The victims

A passenger in the first sedan — a Florida man whose age was not listed in the report — was killed in the crash. The driver of that vehicle, a 28-year-old man from Bunnell, suffered serious injuries.

Both occupants of the pickup truck — a 72-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries.

The driver and passenger of the third sedan, a 34-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man both from the Ormond Beach area, were not injured.

FHP noted the passenger killed in the crash was not wearing a seatbelt.
