A person is dead after being hit by two separate cars at the intersection of U.S. 92 and N. Kepler Road in DeLand Sunday morning.
State troopers say the 32-year-old man was hit while attempting to cross U.S. 92 on a red “don’t walk” signal. Troopers say an 18-year-old woman in a GMC Sierra was driving through the intersection on a green light when they tried to swerve, but ultimately hit the 32-year-old.
According to a crash report, the collision caused the man to be thrown into the other lanes, where he was hit again by a Volkswagen Atlas driven by a 44-year-old man.
The 32-year-old man died at the scene, and both drivers remained as investigators arrives, investigators say.
A roadblock was set up and shut down the east bound lane for hours, but has since been cleared.
The crash is under investigation.
