Florida Highway Patrol is searching for a hit-and-run driver after they said a 76-year-old Orlando man was struck and killed by multiple vehicles.

The crash happened just after 6 a.m. Monday on S. Apopka Vineland Road near Palm Parkway.

According to an FHP report, the pedestrian was walking westbound and entered the southbound lanes of S. Apopka Vineland outside of a marked crosswalk. A 2015 Nissan Altima, driven by a 57-year-old Orlando man, struck the pedestrian with its front right side.

The pedestrian was then propelled into the outside lane, where he was struck by the undercarriage of a 2013 Nissan Cube driven by a 47-year-old Orlando man. The driver of the Altima also told troopers a third vehicle — described as a possibly white SUV — struck the pedestrian before fleeing the scene, the report states.

The Nissan Cube driver initially left the scene but later returned. Troopers found undercarriage damage on the vehicle consistent with the crash.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Neither the Altima driver, its passenger, nor the Cube driver were injured.
