Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party at Oogie Boogie Bash
Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake is replacing the Frightfully Fun Parade as the marquee processional entertainment at Oogie Boogie Bash in 2026. The longtime parade is not being presented this year due to ongoing construction at Disney California Adventure. Work on the upcoming Coco-themed attraction near Pixar Pier affects an area adjacent to one of the park’s parade gates, limiting use of the traditional route.
Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake begins with villagers dressed like those in “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” The Headless Horseman follows, trotting down the route on his horse with a glowing jack-o’-lantern.
Next is a group of butlers and maids wearing their distinct costumes.
The first float has Sally Slater, the Tightrope Girl from her portrait in the stretching room. She holds her pink parasol above the alligator that is revealed beneath her when the full portrait is shown. Also, the portrait of Alexander Nitrokoff is present, along with a barrel of gunpowder which he stands upon in his portrait.
On the back of the float is a full portrait of the quicksand men, also from the stretching room.
Next up is a float with the suit of armor and the Coffin Occupant. The back of the float had the watchful busts, the famous carved stone faces whose eyes appear to follow guests as they pass by.
The next float has bride Constance Hatchaway standing out front of a scaled-down version of the mansion. The floats stopped, and dancers had a swinging wake and performed to “Grim Grinning Ghosts.”
On the back of the float is the Caretaker in the graveyard with his lantern.
The final float has the Hitchhiking Ghosts, Ezra, Phineas, and Gus followed by grave diggers and performers holding ghostly puppets.
Showtimes are 8:05 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.
The separately ticketed, after-hours event is offered on select nights from August 18 through October 31. Disney stated that tickets remain available for select dates at the time of the preview’s release.
