Celebrity 5&10 and The Darkroom at Disney’s Hollywood Studios have a new temporary cash register that could eventually become a mobile checkout station.
Celebrity 5&10 Temporary Cash Register

There used to be a permanent cash wrap in this spot but it was removed. The flooring was replaced and an outlet cover was installed where the register used to be. It seems a permanent register won’t return but there’s now a temporary podium.

The podium is white with golden trim. The Cast Member manning it just has a scanner and tablet, rather than a full register.

It looks like the stations used for merchandise mobile checkout at other stores. That option is currently only offered at Mickey’s of Hollywood in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (pictured above).
Maybe this podium means mobile checkout will come to Celebrity 5&10 and/or The Darkroom. For now, it’s being used as a regular register.
Celebrity 5&10 sells home goods and The Darkroom, which is attached, sells pins.
