Central Florida is warming back up as we wrap up September, with moisture and rain chances increasing over the next few days.

Wednesday

Moisture is building back into Central Florida, bringing a noticeable increase in rain and storm chances. A few showers will move onshore this morning, with coverage increasing this afternoon as storms spread across the area.

Rain chances will range from 20% to 40%.

Temperatures will continue to warm, with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees inland. Heat indices will reach the low to mid 90s.

Late Week

The wetter pattern continues and strengthens through the end of the workweek.

Rain chances increase to 50%–60% Friday as deeper moisture moves in. Showers and storms will become more widespread each afternoon, with the greatest coverage expected across areas west of I-95.

It will also turn warmer and more humid, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and heat indices approaching 100 degrees.

Weekend Outlook

Rain chances gradually decrease Saturday and Sunday as deeper moisture shifts north and west of Central Florida. However, this will not be a completely dry weekend, with scattered showers and storms still possible each day.

Rain chances increase again early next week as a cold front moves south toward Florida. By Tuesday, the front is expected to push into north-central Florida, bringing another increase in showers and storms.
